Testimonials / Letters - Letter 79Dear Draggin Jeans, I wanted to write a letter about how I field tested your products, unfortunately. On November 10th, I was riding down an Arkansas highway when my Triumph hit a nasty pavement heave right in the middle of a corner. The bike low-sided and I went for a ride down the pavement (with the bike riding me). Now here in Arkansas, we have something called “chip-seal” pavement, which has the surface texture of 60 grit sandpaper. Well, I took a ride to the hospital where I was in ICU for a week, with broke ribs, a ruptured spleen, bruised lung, and a host of other problems. I slid close to 100 foot on the pavement, my Draggin Jeans never let the pavement touch my skin. I ended up with some mild road rash on my knees, butt and legs, but the Kevlar in the jeans was not compromised…since the road rash looked more like a burn that a scrape, I assume that the friction between the pavement and the jeans was pretty extreme and caused my road rash. The jeans were destroyed (and the Kevlar liner was shredded, but not torn), as was my jacket, my bike, my helmet, and almost me. By the way, the jeans were 4 years old and very worn…and they still did their job. I have a new Triumph on order, and I will need to buy a new helmet, jacket, boots, and pants. I will be buying another pair of Draggin Jeans, but this time I will get the armor in the knees. Sincerely, Reginald French |
