Testimonials / Letters - Letter 77I was involved in an accident last January with a kangaroo and while the kangaroo didn't survive, I did - and with minimal damage! I was minding my own business riding along the Putty Road (which is on the outskirts of Sydney) at about 11.00am when a kangaroo decided to cross the road about a metre in front of me. As I was travelling at about 100 kph, I didn't even have time to react before the kangaroo leapt into my front wheel. The bike went down and I was thrown onto the road, landing on my left shoulder, hip and leg and rolling over many times. And luckily I was wearing all the right gear - full face helmut, leather jacket, gloves and boots, and my draggin jeans. I suffered lots of abrasions and bruises and a broken little finger. But how lucky was that? It could have been much worse. Unfortunately my bike and helmut are write-offs, and my leather jacket, gloves and boots all required only minor repairs, but my draggin jeans were worn through on the left knee - down to the yellow kevlar lining.
