Testimonials / Letters - Letter 62March 2006 Dear Draggin' Having worn your products for several years I recently put them to the test. At the time was I wearing a pair of your jeans and an ultra light jacket, with elbow and back protection. I do long distance commuting in Western Australia and was close to home after riding for several hundred kilometres. It was there that I encountered several kangaroos on the highway which in itself is not that unusual. I know that I slowed down and while the roo’s left the road as I passed them, one decided to jump back right under my front wheel. I have no idea how fast I was going at impact, but I slide some 100 metres up the road ending up close to my bike. I suffered a compound fracture of my knee cap and ripped the Kevlar on that knee. My leather gloves and boots were shredded and one boot was ripped right off, leaving some scraps on my hand and foot. The rest of me was unmarked even though I slide on my back and rolled face down. Thank goodness for a full face helmet. The Kevlar protection was excellent and certainly saved me from much more serious injury. The pants are ripped but the rest of the Kevlar, except for the knee, remained intact. The ultra light jacket was amazing and much stronger than I thought it would be. It seems to have survived with minor few holes and tears. Most of these were on my arms and I am convinced that the elbow armour also helped. Of course as you have heard before the hospital staff were surprised that I had no serious burns or grazes.
