Dear Draggin Jeans

It was a beautiful, sunny, summer’s evening, riding alone on the minor winding, well-surfaced and dry roads in the Vale of York.

I came to a ‘T’ junction, where there was good long distance visibility all round. There were no other vehicles in sight, so I changed down and started to power gently round the corner at between 20 and 30mph. At the apex of the corner I was met by a lake of oil, which I later learned had come from a Landrover that had lost its sump plug!

I had no control over the events of the next few seconds, just the impressions of my bike going down on the nearside, its wheels digging into the road and it becoming airborne before landing on its other side. It ended up 40 metres down the road.

I came to rest on my back, arms and legs akimbo, having rolled and slid some 20 metres. My Draggin’Jeans UltraLight jacket and chinos, equipped with their CE armour pads, took the brunt of the impact and I only sustained bruising and minor friction grazing.

Despite the distance I had travelled on the tarmac, the clothing showed only minor damage to the fabrics, but in these damaged areas, the Kevlar lining that was exposed was intact, and undoubtedly saved my skin!

I have ordered replacements from Draggin’Jeans as I am now fully convinced of both their comfort and, more importantly, their effectiveness in the case of an accident.

Best wishes,
Sqn.Ldr. Spike Wilson.
