I bought a pair of draggin jeans at the beginning of 2011. Since then I have had a couple of spills. I'm a returned rider. I am very happy with your product! The fit is great, comfortable and protection in a slide does the job.
The first slide was on dirt and my right knee copped a nice slide burn. Much worse if I had not been wearing the jeans. Was not wearing lower body armor. The outer denim material on the right knee ended up with a small 1.5inch triangle tear. Kevlar material was not breached.
Recently I went for another slide this time on a sealed road surface. Was wearing lower body armour and Draggin jeans. No lower body injury although I did get another larger tear in the right knee area of the jeans again. Separate tear to previous one.
Best regards, Simon Wild

I would like to thank you for making such a high quality product and saving my skin last November. I purchased a pair of Draggin Jeans about 4 years ago and between two road bikes have travelled the best part of 40,000km in them.
In November 2011, my Draggin Jeans were called upon to perform the job I purchased them for when I came off by bike in the wet on a straight stretch of road after I hit a patch of water and aquaplaned out of control. I was doing 90kmph and hit the ground on my back, skidding 50 metres or more before I came to an unceremonial halt in the middle of the road.
My jeans performed admirably, preventing me from receiving any marks on my legs from the friction on the road surface. The denim remained in tact, with two small holes on the seam on the left side of my leg, showing the kevlar panel underneath.
Yours Sincerley, Jon Reader

Dear Draggin Jeans

I want to thank you for a truly wonderful product which literally saved my skin after coming off my motorcycle recently.
I treated myself to a pair of black draggin jeans from 'getgeared' retailer in Surrey, England back in 2009. They have been used regularly during dry weather riding ever since.
Back on 5th October 2011, i decided to go out for a ride on my Honda CBR1000F, taking in the beautiful country roads around the County of Kent in South East England.
Mid afternoon, i headed back home and whilst progressing through several bends and twisty roads, the back wheel lost traction and threw me off. I was knocked unconcious, but fortunately only sustained a minor graze on my back.
Upon coming round to full conciousness, my bike had suffered only cosmetic damage, but to my amazement, my draggin jeans had only suffered a minor 'scuff' to the rear left pocket along the stitching. The fitted knee and hip armour had saved me from impact injuries and the high quality of the product overall prevented serious injuries to my legs.

My sincere thanks for a fantastic product which lives up to its claims.

Kind regards

Hey there. My name is Monica Hill, and I have recently been in an accident involvong me on my bike versus a truck, which ended up with me in hospital for a few days. I was very lucky though, and escaped with abrasions and lacerations to my hip and arm. I count myself lucky that I was wearing my Draggin Jeans gear at the time, and think that it was the reason that I got off so lightly. Sadly, all of my much-loved gear had to be cut off of me by the ambulance crew, and my bike is totalled, but if/when I get the confidence to get back on the road again, I will definately be looking to outfit myself in more of your gear. Thankyou so much, and keep the good stuff coming! :) -Monica

Hey guys,

I just wanted to say how much I love your slix jeans and that they literally saved my ass!!

I was indecisive as to whether I should buy a pair or not, after buying my very first bike. I had all the other gear but wasnt sure if Draggin's were necessary, and I needed to save up a bit more cash if I wanted them. Anyway, I bit the bullet and bought a pair. Super comfortable, pretty warm and dry and looked very cool.

It seems I bought them just in time, as a week later I had my first off. I was going 60km along riversdale road when a hail storm hit. I moved into the left lane, over tram tracks, but didnt compensate for the now very icy, tram tracks. I went down on my left side, skidded across the 2 lanes on my side with the weight of the bike on my left leg. I managed to stop myself skidding with my head hitting the kerb!!!

My bike has $3500 worth of damage, my helmet and jacket are screwed, boots and gloves fine, but my brand new draggins are ripped and melted(?!)on my left leg. HOWEVER! My skin underneath them was totally fine, just bruised from the weight of the bike. They literally saved my skin!

I'm sure you hear stories like this all the time, so I wont go on! Time to start saving for another pair, I certainly wont be getting on my bike until I do!

Thanks again!!!

David

Phil has told a tale on Monday 11 April, 2011

Why didn't somebody tell me?
After much research and heartache I bought myself a Draggin denim jacket from my local bike shop. The helpful lady at the shop tried her hardest to talk me OUT of buying the jacket but I had made my mind up. She wanted me to buy leather, or some plastic thing but in the end I got myself an indigo coloured jacket which I was very proud of.
All I really wanted to sa about it is that it is simply the most comfortable motorcycle jacket that I have ever worn. I have tried expensive leathers and synthetics but in the comfort stakes, nothing comes close to my new Draggin. It is soft and breathes wonderfully and works just so well with the bike. I plan not to test it but if I ever do, I believe that it will perform wonderfully as it is obviously so well put together.
Thank you Draggin! 10/10

I was recently involved in a bad accident on my bike, I sneezed as i went into a bend at 100 mph, lost my line, lost control, hit a sign post and slid about 50 metres up the road, i recieved several injuries including a severed big toe,a broken foot, broken ankle and a broken hand.
But thankfully no gravel rash, this i can only put down to the best £90 i've ever spent, My draggin jeans, and i would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for such an excellent product, one which not only saved me from a serious amount of gravel rash, but one which has survived (apart from a ripped off back pockrt ) to be worn another day, I shall wear my jeans with great pride and confidence, once again thanks for such an excellent pair of jeans,

yours thankfully

Just wanted to say a BIG thank you for sending me a replacement pair of cargos - they fit great and I can see that they will be better wearing than my previous pair.

I am very impressed that this even happened and i'm glad i contacted Draggin about my faulty cargos - i really wasn't happy with them and therefore the brand... which wasn't fair, as i guess i just had a bunk pair. I have restored faith in this product and I thank you for your time and effort!!

THANK YOU again!

Hi Guys, Just bought a pair of Biker Stretch jeans today and I am so happy with them I just had to let you know. The fit is fantastic, much better than the standard jean. It's like they were made to measure just for me. You could even wear them when not riding that's how good they are. Also very comfortable. Thanks. I'm really pleased.

Steve Listkiewicz has told a tale on Tuesday 27 April, 2010

After 5 years of use, and 70 thousand plus kays of riding , my poor old Draggins jeans where starting to show signs of wear and tear and fading. Cant really complain, i rode half way around Australia in them , took them to the States on a ride around Califoria, and lots of other Interstate trips , and general scratching around . I went to Draggins Jeans website, and wrote a comment about how my Draggin Jeans where still serving me well after 5 years riding . About 4 weeks ago i got a Phone call from Draggin Jeans, thanking me for the comments i made about there product . They offered to refurbish my Jeans, to re dye the fabric, which i accepted with joy. Got my Draggin jeans back in the post today, plus a bonus Tee Shirt , and the fabric looks like near new again! Thanks Draggin Jeans for going way beyond the call of duty.

Hi my name is Steve from Woodcroft, South Australia. Five years ago in 2005, I got back into Motorcycling, after a long absence from motorbikes. When purchasing the motorcycle, I also purchased riding gear, which included a pair of Draggin Jeans. After five years of covering near on 70,000 kilometres. I've got to say, the Draggin Jeans are still in reasonable condition despite having a minor collision with a barbed wire fence two years ago. Having ridden around Australia being taken to USA for a 2 week trip of California and various Interstate trips, and local rides in Australia. They're showing signs of wear on the bottom of the leg, from scuffing on the ground etc, and being the Black Jeans, are starting to fade now. I bought another pair 6 months ago, for a long distance ride I was doing then. And they're just as good. Keep up the Great work on this product!

Being 40 years old and new to road riding, I’ve re-entered the sport with a very safety-conscious attitude. First thing I did having bought the bike was buy all the gear, including a pair of black Draggin cargo pants…. thankfully! I had a spill within the first 3 rides – I was being doubled at the time but that didn’t lighten the fall. I landed on my knee and rolled a number of times. Without the protection afforded by the Draggin cargo pants, my injuries would have been much greater. Needless to say I’m happy with the cargos – they’re also very comfortable to ride in, look smart and have lots of handy pockets! Cheers, Carmel.

Thanks Draggin for making fashionable yet safe jeans shaped for women. I love the Slix style. I feel at ease on the bike knowing I'm wearing protective gear and I can get off and walk down the street knowing that I'm also wearing fashionable street style jeans!

I just wanted to say thanks for your making a great product. Unfortunately I put it to the test when I sailed over a car that did a hook turn in front of me. I'm OK - no broken bones just very sore, bruised and hobbling around the house but I'm getting better fairly quickly.

When I went to put an insurance claim in for my gear I noticed that despite landing heavily on my rear end and back the jeans barely had a scratch. Just a few pulled threads. They were in such reasonable condition that I didn't bother claiming for them because they are still alright and I've worn them most days for nine months.

Thanks very much for making a quality product and saving my skin literally. Keep making those jeans!

Kind regards and thanks

I bought my first pair of Draggin Jeans from Grant when he started his factory. They have been on trips around Australia and I'm still wearing them. This year I was clipped by a 4WD at an intersection in Geelong. The jeans saved my leg with only a large bruise, and the bike suffered $4000 damage. Thanks, Draggin Jeans.

Hi Jen! I just received the Draggin Jeans today and guess what? I am wearing them right now and I don't even noticed! I mean, you can wear those without even knowing that you actually wear protective gear. The fit is excellent, I can't wait until spring (today was the first snowstorm of the season here in Québec...) to test them on my bikes!

I'll keep you in touch... By the way, if you want me to place a new product in our "Du nouveau" section of our next issue, feel free to tell me which one..

Been wearing my draggin jeans for a while now and I'd never go out on my bike without them. Got knocked off about 18 months ago by a idiot car driver which couldn't see a red light at a roundabout. Went from bike to bonnet and then several rolls along the tarmac. Sustained a broken arm but the jeans stood up really well, just a couple of tears in the denim. Best money I've ever spent!

Just a quick note of thanks to Draggin Jeans. Lost my Blackbird on Kariong Hill coming out of Gosford on the way to work last Tuesday. The Bike is a write off. I broke a bone in my hand and dislocated a finger. I did not have any other injuries. I slid over 15 meters along the road, The Draggin jeans are holed through the denim on the knees. The motor cycle jacket I was wearing is shredded from the right elbow down. I am thankful for the quality of your jeans. My only decisions now are what model of Draggins to replace the my "used ones" and when I get my next "Bird".
Many Thanks

I am the proud owner of a pair of your jeans. My story may be different than most that you get, in that I have not had the opportunity to 'test' your product other than wearing them. All I really want to say is that these jeans are by far the most comfortable pair of jeans that I own, they look fantastic and I wear them in preference to my Gap jeans or Levi's, even when not riding my much beloved VStrom. I love the solid feel and they are by far the most comfortable pair of pants that I own. Well done! I have every intention of having a small collection of Draggin in my cupboard to use as everyday wear.

I'd like to thank you for making such a "less pain" saving product. I had to bail yesterday at 90kph from a collision to the back of a vehicle on the motorway. My knee and hip took a lot of the impact on the bitumen, after sliding 25 metres. I got up and looked at my legs, wow, the jeans were cut through but the Kevlar, barely damaged. My jacket and gloves were a total mess but my jeans...well I could stick a patch on and use them again. (Joke) I recommend with my life a pair of your jeans. Thanks so much for helping to save my limbs.

Alex Campbell has told a tale on Monday 31 August, 2009

I own a pair of Cargo Draggins. A little over 3 months ago i came off at about 60kmh onto bitumen whilst wearing my Draggins (totally my fault).

I fractured my shoulder blade and suffered some slight road rash just above the belt line of my cargo's, but the cargos themselves held up just fine. The only noticeable damage is to the right lower leg (where i assume the pants slid between my boot and the road), and even this is only minimal. "Grazing" to the material rather than worn through.

The side of my upper leg and hip where i must have hit the ground look completely undamged, and i still wear the same pants to this day.

Just wanted to say how impressed i was with the Draggins, and that i will certainly continue to buy them.

Mal Jarrett has told a tale on Monday 31 August, 2009

Just a quick note to all at Draggin Jeans. Unfortunately, I recently had the miss-fortune of 'road testing' a pair of Draggin Jeans. I went down the road on a right hand bend at approximately 80 KPH, and after sliding along the road for about 10-15 meters, was pleasantly surprised to find the only damage to myself was a slight friction burn to my right hip (and a broken thumb!) and a light scuffing to my Draggin Jeans where I had received the friction burn. To say that I was impressed is an understatement.

Thanks Draggin Jeans, you quite literally 'saved my arse'!

I had a nasty accident on Sunday 26th July while on a ride with my club (twobaysbranch Ulysses). I was wearing my protective clothing which includes a pair of Cargo style Draggin Jeans. My bike unfortunately was written off, and so were my draggins. The outer material was ripped away but the Kevlar was intact and literally saved my arse. I have attached 2 photos of the damage. I would like to applaud you for having such a great product, although I am still a bit sore I cant wait to get back on a new bike, and I will of course have the confidence of your product protecting me.

Once again a very big thank you to Draggins.

I was wearing a £900 Rukka jacket and a pair of Draggin jeans when I took a slide down the tarmac. The jacket was worn right down to the armour, my jeans just had one small hole, abrasions and scuffs, the Kevlar was not worn through anywhere. One of the best riding products I have ever bought in 30 years of riding, saved my skin, thanks!

Just thought I would let you know that I crashed my motorbike yesterday. Fortunately I haven't got any serious injuries. I think the bike is a right off. But I was wearing my Draggin Camo Jeans and whilst the top layer wore off in the slide the kevlar saved me from any grazing.

Thanks Draggin Jeans!

Nick Doyle has told a tale on Wednesday 15 July, 2009

Last month coming around a corner I hit a patch of dirt and washed out the front.
Lowsided, slid across my lane and into the next.
Cordura jacket got some good rips in it, bike was a write-off.
The denim on the draggins tore, but the kevlar worked exactly as designed and saved my left knee from what would have been very serious abrasion.

I recently bought new replacement gear, and didn't hesitate to include another pair of draggins.

They've saved me once and I hope I don't need them again.

I have to say - guys thanks for a really smart, well-executed invention.
Without Draggins, the impracticality of changing in and out of protective legwear would mean many of us simply wouldn't be bothered. I love how with Draggins I can ride in to work, wear them around all day, then come end of the day grab my stuff, jump on the bike and ride home. They really are a great invention.

I just want to thank you for an excellent product. I was wearing a pair old Draggin chinos when I was knocked off my bike by a crazy car driver. I slid 50 meters with the bike on my left leg and my leg on the tarmac. The cotton part of the chinos was marked but did not wear through and the Kevlar held fast and saved my skin, literally. The armour inserts took the initial impact and performed well. I ended up with a dislocated ankle and ruptured tendons but no broken bones and just one insignificant road burn.

Unfortunately, the chinos did not survive the paramedics scissors :)

Hi,
What a great product. I had a kangaroo jump into my m109 Suzuki at 115km p/h and take my leg out and break it in three places and I was able to ride the bike another 15km to hospital where the doctors couldn't believe I rode on.
Well what was I to do, no leg so couldn't get the stand down on the bike and was not about to drop the thing.
The doctors said that the draggin jeans with out a doubt saved my leg from being totally shattered. So guys keep up the good work.
The doctors have no respect for gear they cut my jeans off and they broke there cutters but didn't give me my jeans back in very good shape at all just thought you may want to no thanks and will be buying another pair when I get back on my leg and my bike thanks.

I was wearing a pair of Draggin Kevlar Legs under my work pants (an old pair of king gee tradies) and whilst my work gear was stuffed my K-legs held up great!! Not a scratch on me!!
The best part of the whole experience, aside from your great product, was the look on the driver's face when I jumped straight up and proceeded to "politely" inform him of the inconvenience he had caused me!!
Thanks again for a great product. I have seberal pairs of jeans and camos but the K-legs really came into their own.

I was involved in an accident that could easily have been much worse.
I was saved from serious injury by the safety gear I was wearing.
My bike was completely written off and the insurance assessor was surprised to hear I walked away from the accident.
I was able to do so in part because my Draggin's prevented serious abrasions to my lower body (except for my knee which was the primary point of contact after impact!).
I've come to the conclusion the only thing better than owning a pair of Draggin Jeans, is having two pairs so you can always wear one while riding!

I wrote my bike off and slid down a dual carriageway here in the UK 2 weeks ago wearing a pair of urban camo draggin jeans with Knox knee armour in them.
This was a massive crash, with a high speed slide, and I'm pleased to say that although my knee took a bit of a bash on the impact, the jeans held up fantastically well - in fact they just looked a little bit dusty when I came to a halt! Awesome, thanks very much.

As a member of a motorcycle club, I some time ago arranged a local motorbike shop to give our members a deal on Draggin Jeans after a member came off and injured himself.
So far the club has purchased numerous pairs, myself included. After being taken out in a collision today and taking the skin off the left knee, I was surprised to see that the jeans did the job and though minor bleeding, the jeans were unmarked, but my injury minor compared to what could have been.
Personal experience with your product now I can only congratulate you making a comfortable and safe piece of riding gear.
Great work guys, every bike rider should have a pair.

Last weekend I collided head on with a very large kangaroo.
I was probably travelling at about 110 kph. I skidded, tumbled and somersaulted about 30 meters along the tar and had a helicopter flight to hospital.
The end result was a broken arm which was pinned and plated.
The draggin jeans I was wearing saved my legs and the jeans were virtually unharmed, however I will be buying a new pair and would never ride a bike without wearing them. I could not commend Draggin Jeans highly enough.

G'day.
Just a note to say how much I like your Kevlar Legs. I was given a pair in June last year, and in winter I would keep the things on after I got to work they were so warm and comfortable, and in summer I wear them every weekend for long rides.
Any riding gear is hot once you get off the bike, but I reckon these are no worse than many other forms of leg protection, and on the bike they are fine and feel very natural.
I'm so impressed I intend to get the Sweatshirt and gloves soon. I fortunately haven't had to test them (or any other gear, in a decade of daily riding) yet in a mis-hap, but their total coverage gives me a lot of confidence.
As testament to how comfortable they are, I got up for work one morning, as usual put my Kevlar Legs on first then my other clothes, including army boots, had my breakfast, walked outside and got on the bike and started it up.
I looked down to see I was not wearing any pants!

Matt Bishop

Injured pride more than anything. Crash knobs saved all the important bits on the bike but the exhaust and the fairing don't look too flash. I figure I was somewhere between 40 and 50kph when I lost the front.
A combination of new tyres, smooth road and an off camber roundabout did the damage. I was out scrubbing in the new tyres so I knew to be careful but must have pushed it a bit too far. How embarrassing.
The jeans did their job to perfection! The Kevlar was in just the right spot and the only damage to me was a nice little bruise. The logo on my jacket sleeve is warn down, the logo on the jacket shoulder is a bit melted but there is hardly even any wear on the denim.
Needless to say I'm very impressed and very happy I was wearing my Draggin Jeans! Thanks for saving my skin.

To Draggin' Jeans

I purchased a pair of your cargo pants a couple of months back.
Like all safety gear, I was hoping that I would never need it.
Unfortunately, I did need them on Nov 17, at 1:41 in the afternoon.
Traffic is heavy here in the San Francisco Bay area, and the freeway had slowed down to around 25mph (40km).
I was in the slow lane, when a car next to me decided he wanted to exit the freeway, and didn't look for my motorcycle sitting in the lane between him and the exit.
He hit me hard and set me flying. I hopped up immediately, and the pants hadn't even torn! (In the following days I would find that my knees had bruised because there is no armor, but bruises are nothing compared to no skin! Also, besides bruising all over my body, I did not sustain any broken bones.) Thank you so much for developing such a superior product. My skin thanks you. =)

'The dreaded diesel spill'
Tuesday morning just going to the supermarket there were just two roundabouts to negotiate. The bike went down on the second one after contact with a recent diesel spill.
In an instant I was following my bike across the tarmac & into a traffic island at maybe 60kph. My injuries from the waist down were confined to a bruise on my hip.
Without my Draggin' Jeans (now sadly not as pretty as they were) I would have lost copious amounts of blood & been leaving the scene in an ambulance. I had a bit of a limp for a couple of days but apart from that I'm fine & riding again.

Having turned 50 back in Jan 08, I finally realised a dream I had cherished since giving up riding in my mid 20s.
I had owned three bikes at one time or another, two Bonnie 650s and a Yammie RD 350, but had given up riding on getting married.
The Boss told me that I could get back on a bike when our youngest child finished High School - I think she hoped that I might grow out of it. However, that of a brand new Triumph Bonneville America.
To go with it I bought myself a pair of Draggin Jeans, a CorTech jacket, Nolan helmet, Falco boots and cheapo gloves. I had three months of sheer bliss, touring the backroads, taking long spins in the country and generally spoiling myself.
It all stopped in March when I went into a corner on a country backroad too fast, failed to match a curve with a curve and jumped clear of the bike before it hit the big tree at the apex.
Came to in intensive care five days later with 12 fractured or broken ribs, a smashed left clavicle, punctured lungs and abrasions to my left arm (through the jacket!). However, not a single scratch on my legs - those kevlar lined jeans did their job magnificently.
In fact, I reckon that I'd still be wearing them except for the fact that the paramedics had to cut them off. So, the bike comes back from the repair shop soon and the very first thing I'll be doing is ordering a new pair of Draggin Jeans - you just don't argue with experience.

All the best,

Hi :)
I just wanted to say thankyou for your product.
I have two pairs of Ladies Skins that I wear whenever I'm riding.
I had an accident a couple of weeks ago in which my bike did not survive and I was incredibly lucky to walk away.
I ho23-Oct-2008a pair of my reinforced jeans.
I have attached a picture of my jeans and as you can see it would be unlikely that my left gluteal would have survived.

Anyway thanks again

B Burton has told a tale on Sunday 12 October, 2008

Last Monday I had a "mishap" and fell from my motorcycle onto coarse bitumen at 30-40kph. Fortunately I was wearing my Draggin Jeans, which now have a 20c-sized hole in the denim and a 2mm hole in the Kevlar panel below the left knee.
My left knee has a superficial abrasion which, although painful, is healing well because the wound is not deep and is free of contamination. This is because the Kevlar panel prevented my knee coming into direct contact with the road surface and being ground into it.
I have no doubt that your product saved me from what could have been a serious injury.
My Draggin Jeans look good, fit well and are comfortable to wear while riding. Most importantly they provide protection in the last line of defence when judgement and skill fail. In my opinion, the cost of my jeans was money well spent, compared with the cost of injury.

With sincere appreciation,
B Burton

I am writing to let you know how Draggin Jeans saved my skin - literally - in a recent bike crash.
As you can see from the condition of the right knee, the outer denim was scuffed and torn but the Kevlar lining remained intact and prevented direct contact with the road, also cushioning the impact.
My knee was just a little sore but quickly recovered. Without the Kevlar, I am convinced that my knee would have been severely damaged.

G'Day all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Decided to share the results of a recent (unintended) road test on some of my gear, since there are quite a lot of posts here saying something is good or bad, but not many proper road tests backing that up.
Test conditions was a lowside at around 70-90 kph onto smoothish blacktop.
Slid facedown for a few seconds then tumbled about 10 times before coming to a stop.
Overall distance, around 30 odd meters at a guess, not entirely sure.
Pants: Draggin Chinos
Result: For what happened, a good result. Pants trashed, Kevlar melted, some friction burns on L knee and a nice chunk out of L knee as well as that was 1st point of contact. Kevlar remained intact, so no wire brush for me (thank goodness). Leg was sore for about 1.5 to 2 weeks after, almost healed now.
Verdict: Happy with performance, replacing with some Draggin Classic jeans, but would like to find some armour/padding that can be inserted into Kevlar lined pants, need to find out more about some Knox gear and where to source. Also looking into the matching set of leather pants for the A* jacket.

Hello,
I went down on the highway going around 65mph a few weeks ago wearing your Draggin Camos.
I sustained very minor road rash on one knee. I am convinced had I not had your pants on I'd have ground off a kneecap.
Thank you for a fine product, I'll be ordering a second pair right now.

Frank has told a tale on Tuesday 09 September, 2008

Riding Kit: Draggin Jeans Oilskins
These great new trousers are called Draggin Oilskins.
And here we can quote from Rowena herself, who converted Frank to these trousers with this secret message: 'They've taken the age-old tradition of coating ships' sails with whale and linseed oil and given it a completely modern spin - so no whales were harmed in the making of these jeans! The old form of oilskin has been developed into a clean, waxed cotton fabric which DJs have combined with their Kevlar Unobtanium lining.
The result is styled as a classic fit jean with a semi-boot cut to fit over your boots, which provides superb weather resistance while still being soft to touch. Draggin Jeans Oilskins are intended to keep the wearer comfortable, dry and safe, so to test this we sent FW out to the Jampot Rally this month - and indeed he came home with a dripping wet exterior while remaining snug and dry inside.'
But that is only part of the story. Frank has been riding for several thousands of good solid English miles this year, and has become intimately intimate with rain. Lots of rain. And then more rain. Rain comes in many forms, from gentle drizz to true tempest, and Frank has ridden about the UK in all of them.
He can therefore reveal to you that the jeans are waterproof. Entirely waterproof when worn behind a fairing like that fitted to his most excellent Norton. When the bike has a fairing, there is no need to wear overtrousers. Frank discovered this because when he was enjoying a particularly vigorous drench in Wales he stopped and put on his very very very old Rukka overtrousers, which have been completely wet-proof for two whole decades. He got soaked. This was because it was summer and was very hot. So, Frank's gruff, manly legs steamed up and soaked the insides of his Draggin Oilskins.
This clever and original piece of research (EU grant has been applied for) revealed that although Frank's legs were soaking wet, the insides of the overtrousers were completely dry. The outsides of the overtrousers were also completely wet.
The EU would pay a fortune for understandings like this one. So Frank took off his overtrousers and carried on the remainder of his heroic manly and far too lonely ride around Wales in the honking deluge without the overtrousers.
At day's end, and prior to collapsing into a deep bath of warm, relaxing ass's milk and being pampered by sensuously writhing Maidens From Wales, Frank observed that his legs had dried out once the overtrousers were removed, and although the outsides of the Oily Dragginskins were wet, the insides were dry. This is known technically as A Result. Lashing torrents encountered while riding a bike without a Norton's vast and ugly fairing get held at bay, too, but only for about a half hour. After this point, Frank discovered that as the Oily Draggers do not boast elasticated bottoms water runs up the legs inside them.
At this point you get wet legs. This is known as an inevitability and scientists throughout the world understand that it makes it impossible to tell you whether the Draggin Oilies will keep the water out forever.
Frank supposes that he could tuck his trousers into his socks but fears that he would look like an imbecile, or worse, like a golfer. Frank also said that he would recommend these fine pants to anyone, and heck, might even buy his (younger, handsome, BMW riding Ewan-clone) brother a pair for Christmas!
And you cannot, gentle reader, say fairer than that.

My wife fractured her jaw and torn her lip from her gum , my fault for not buying full face helmets...but we are both so grateful I insisted on draggin ppe, just looking at the kit now we can see how many skin grafts this saved us both, congragulations to your engineers and everybody associated with the product.

12 months ago I had a fairly serious motorcycle accident, 2 days in intensive care, 6 weeks in rehab and 12 months later still walking with a stick and having pain issues.
But on the day of my accident I was wearing good quality gear, including my Draggin Jeans.
Wearing these jeans saved me from even more grief. It has been difficult enough with the broken bones, but had I not been wearing Draggin Jeans I have no doubt that my injuries would have been worse.
As it was, I did not suffer any degloving injuries thanks to the right gear.
Thank you, Draggin Jeans, for making a product that works.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Draggin Jeans to anyone who will listen, and in fact, that is what I have been doing and will continue to do. These jeans are a great product and they work.

I was in a 100km area on the Don road between Warburton and Healesville doing 75km around a blind corner.
A couple attempted to pull out from a lookout car park, trajectory suggested they were going to collide I braked lost control, gained control, braked lost control again low sided the bike on the right hand side.
The couple took me to the hospital, my motorcycling buddy who was with me dealt with the bike.
Got to the hospital after x-rays I had a fractured elbow and multiple meta carpel #5 fractured bruised ribs and a grazed left knee and a chaffed right knee.
My knees would have been a lot worse in fact I suggest that I would have been skinned to the bone on my left knee and my right knee would have been grazed had I not been wearing my Draggins. There are rips in both knees of my jeans however the Kevlar remains intact.

Just to let you know, wearing my Draggin Jeans while riding has saved a lot of road damage to myself in a bike accident I had on Boxing Day. Very little damage to the Jeans at all.
Front wheel lock-up after heavy breaking to avoid hitting the car in front. After locking the front wheel, I went off the low-side and landed on the bitumen road - right hip first.
The Draggin Jeans saved any real skin trauma, with only minimal abrasions to knee and thigh. The result of the right hip pushed in wards was a fractured pelvis in 3 places, and 3 months on crutches.
I have attached a couple of photos of the damaged bike after the accident. Mostly damage was to the right hand side - enough to write off the bike.

Thanks,

Hi guys, just a thankyou.
I had a relatively high speed off (60 mph) recently, and walked away relatively unscathed thanks to your gear - I was wearing your camo pants, and k-shirt, with some MX armour and a hoodie over the top.
I work as a motorcycle instructor, and have reccomended your gear from the word go to my CBT students, despite having never crashed in it.
Having now crashed in it, I shall continue to endorse it!And will continue to wear it...once I come up with near enough two hundred quid to replace the gear that i mullered when I crashed :( Ah well, c'est la vie - at least it did it's job at the time :)
Once I've got the bike repaired, and come up with the cash, I'll order again...
Thanks again for some good gear, that works whilst not making you look like another cliched leather clad biker.

Just wanted to give you guys some positive feedback on your great product.
Was given a pair of Draggins when I first learnt to ride. Six years later- being worn more days in the week than not, travelled through most continents they are still my favourite pair of riding pants.
Though thankfully never tested in anger, they have wore out the years well with only small holes in the back pocket where my wallet rubs, a small hole in the left thigh where the crease rubs against the bike and small holes on the pant legs where they have rubbed against boot buckles.
Today, I have a just purchased a new pair of Draggins which I hope to get another great 6 years of riding!

Many thanks for the memories!

Thanks very much for the wonderful service - you guys never fail to amaze me with your professionalism.
Andrew's Story:
The story started last Wednesday when my 23 year old said "Dad, how 'bout a ride to Fyshwick (Canberra Suburb) with me tomorrow to get a new tyre for the dirt bike.
"OK, that would be great" says I - he does not often ask me to join him.
We started out (with his jacket and red & white Draggin camouflage duds).
He was wearing them because I was with him and he would had got "what for" had he tried to ride in ordinary shorts and T shirt like he does to work early each morning.
We got the new tyre and headed to another shop to have a look.
On leaving this shop there was a 4 tonne truck on his right which he had not noticed as he was about to cross the road. He braked, so did the truck and he opened the throttle and took off again.
Across the road he realised he was going to hit the gutter and threw the bike to the right forgetting the wax that was still on his tyres.
Down he went while Dad watched (most embarrassing having the old man watch you drop)
End result: Sore elbow but no damage, sore knee but not one bit of broken skin and the left hand hit the gravel tore off some skin but luckily not a lot. Just realised now that he had not been wearing gloves. (serves him right).
No damage to the jacket and two burn holes in the Draggin Jeans.
Outcome: Now wears Dad's 2nd jacket, gloves have come out of the cupboard and will be using Dad's other Draggin jeans till his new pair arrive.
He is totally amazed how great Draggin Jeans really are and when asked by two work colleagues where his "pyjamas" were, showed them how they protected him and what little damaged he had. They got on to your site and both have each ordered a pair for themselves.
Guys, I would like to thank for for having such a wonderful product, but more importantly - they protected his arse and taught him a wonderful lesson at the same time on the protection benefits of your gear.

Many thanks
Tim Hobson

The draggin jeans you gave us are fantastic - we wore them on the challenge and for good weather riding they are extremely comfortable with the reassurance that it we had the kevlar lining to protect us.
I'd recommend draggin jeans to anyone who wants some cool kit without the bulk of standard riding gear.
In fact I often wear mine on my short commute to work knowing that I can wear them throughout the day without having to take a change of clothes - they're so practical I often wear them even when I'm not on my bike!

To all the wonderful people at Draggin Jeans,

I am writing this email to thank everyone of for their hard work in producing an amazing product.
My name is Tanya and my older brother Shane (25years old) was in a motor bike accident on the 22nd Dec only days before Christmas.
Nobody knows what happened on the night of the accident. Shanes accident was roughly 2am in the morning and he was not found till 6am, this was only by chance as the accident was on a very small country road. He was found in a ditch with his helmet off and unconcious.
My younger brother and myself were in Japan at the time snow boarding when we got a call to get on the nearest flight to come home. Our holiday was cut short but immediatly forgotten when we walked into the Intensive Care Unit in Royal Perth Hospital to see our brother laying there with machines coming from everywhere.
Shanes injuries to the brain were extreme but when i had a talk to the doctor and nurses they were suprised he had to other injuries at all. He had a few scratches to his back but none at all on his legs.
Christmas day i went home to the country to see my family, in our home in a bag there was his clothes that he had worn when he had the accident. When i opened it and had a look there were his Draggin Jeans that i had got his for Christmas the year before.
The only damage that they had was the 2 cuts either side to cut the jeans off Shane. Amazing.
Shane spent 4 weeks in ICU and was then shifted to a ward for brain injury patients. I did not realise how important it was to wear good quality pants for riding until the nurses wheeled a boy into shanes room who had also come off a bike.
His injuries to his legs i can not even describe. His legs had basically been torn to bits. My eyes were opened very quickly to the importance of this.
Now 8 weeks later Shane is still in the ward and starting a small bit of physio each day. He does not know who we are yet. He comes out with a smile and a bit of a giggle but noone knows what is going on in his brain.
Until he can start communicating with us we wont know how bad the brain damage is going to be. Soon we hope he will be shifted to a rehab hospital where he will get taught how to do everything all over again, walk and talk ect.
Once again i can not thank you enough. I cant imagine what it would have been like if Shane also had to deal with extreme injuries to his body.

Thankyou again
Tanya MacGregor

I had completeld my stunts when it started to rain. The safety car came to get me off the track so I was riding as quick as I could to get off.
I sat up to go down a gear. As soon as I applied the brake due to the slippery conditions my front tyre scooted out and I crashed at 140km's. I landed on my hip and elbow.

Hi Folks,

Firstly thanks for a great product, I have just come back from a 2000km trip across S/E SA and S/W Vic wearing Draggin Cargos with Knox pads.
Very comfortable and versatile, I could step off the bike and go into a pub (very necessary) without the need to change out of 'riding gear'.
My next planned purchases are to be a denim jacket and a K-shirt to allow me to go out completely safe but also 'dress code' appropriate.
With this in mind I often wear short shoes to go out rather than my motorcycle boots, but I am very aware of how exposed my ankles are.
Would it be possible to get socks made from kevlar? I would be very interested in purchasing such a product.
Thanks again for your products and your time.

Cheers,

Hi Draggin Jeans

While negotiating a right-hand bend on my Piaggio X9 250cc Maxi Scooter I made a misjudgement and ran off the sealed road onto a narrow strip of loose gravel and hoped that I could regain control but was unable to do so because, to the left of the gravel, there was a steep bank which I then was travelling along and down at the same time.
I could not tell you what happened next except that I could hear a rushing of air and shortly afterwards I parted company with my machine which ended up on its right-hand side with a fair amount of damage to the fairing and other plastic components.
I considered myself fortunate that the bike did not end up on top of me and I was also pleased that three other riders in our riding group gave me assistance, got me to hospital and let the other riders ahead of us know what had happened.
In the process of the accident, before my landing, I apparently did a few rolls through the air and sustained a grazed left knee although without any damage to the jeans material (except towards the back of the leg) the Kevlar in the left knee area only shows signs of blood staining and although the wound to that knee was much less severe it still took several dressing sessions before it could be left without the need for further dressings.
In the case of the right knee the wound was deeper, took much longer to heal and although the jeans material and the Kevlar were both worn right through I don't doubt that the Kevlar did save me from an even worse wound in that area.
The worst pain I had was from a fracture to the ulna in the right arm near the wrist and it was several days later that, apart from three minor fractures in a hand and foot, I discovered that I had lost partial control of my right shoulder and an x-ray scan showed that I had ruptured three tendons in that area.
Only now do I feel that I may be able to ride again but not without the proper protection even if I only start with a spin around the block

Regards to you from Dave Stevens

I was involved in an accident last January with a kangaroo and while the kangaroo didn't survive, I did - and with minimal damage!
I was minding my own business riding along the Putty Road (which is on the outskirts of Sydney) at about 11.00am when a kangaroo decided to cross the road about a metre in front of me. As I was travelling at about 100 kph, I didn't even have time to react before the kangaroo leapt into my front wheel.
The bike went down and I was thrown onto the road, landing on my left shoulder, hip and leg and rolling over many times. And luckily I was wearing all the right gear - full face helmut, leather jacket, gloves and boots, and my draggin jeans.
I suffered lots of abrasions and bruises and a broken little finger. But how lucky was that? It could have been much worse.
Unfortunately my bike and helmut are write-offs, and my leather jacket, gloves and boots all required only minor repairs, but my draggin jeans were worn through on the left knee - down to the yellow kevlar lining.
Thanks for your help

GEARED UP
A couple of years ago I attended one of Bernie Hatton's bike courses and he spent a lot of time explaining why it was so important to wear protective gear when you ride.
One thing that stuck in my head was his comment that "It's not a matter of if you come off, it's a matter of when you will come off".
I remember thinking that won't happen to me because I don't push it that hard, but I did listen and went and got myself a reasonable full face helmet, Draggin Jeans, a DriRider jacket and boots and gloves. On Christmas Eve I found out just how important that gear is.
I came off in an absolute instant with no time to react or even think of what to do. I estimate I was doing about 100km/h at the point of coming off. I only realised I was in trouble as I hit the ground.
My left shoulder impacted the road first and the shoulder armor did its job in that it cushioned the blow and prevented any road rash.
After three weeks I can't lift my left arm above my shoulder. At some stage I then slid on my head and right shoulder and right elbow. My helmet has a two-inch deep scrape in it.
If I had an open face helmet I would now have no nose, chin and possibly no front teeth. My right shoulder is perfectly OK even though my right elbow has some deep road rash because my elbow hit the road with such force that the armor rolled around my elbow and the jacket was ground through.
The hip armor in my jeans prevented any bruising and road rash to my hips and the Kevlar in the jeans didn't wear through but gave me some superficial burns on my knees.
My bike is worse for wear and will now be modified into a VTR1000 streetfighter (Stu from AusFR will make a fortune out of me).
My riding gear (apart from my boots) is absolutely stuffed, but my injuries are so minimal I'll have a normal life without ongoing pain.
If you think it's too hot to wear, or too uncool, or it won't happen to you - you're a dead set dropkick. Get your gear on.

Dear Draggin Jeans,

I wanted to write a letter about how I field tested your products, unfortunately.
On November 10th, I was riding down an Arkansas highway when my Triumph hit a nasty pavement heave right in the middle of a corner. The bike low-sided and I went for a ride down the pavement (with the bike riding me). Now here in Arkansas, we have something called "chip-seal" pavement, which has the surface texture of 60 grit sandpaper.
Well, I took a ride to the hospital where I was in ICU for a week, with broke ribs, a ruptured spleen, bruised lung, and a host of other problems.
I slid close to 100 foot on the pavement, my Draggin Jeans never let the pavement touch my skin. I ended up with some mild road rash on my knees, butt and legs, but the Kevlar in the jeans was not compromised since the road rash looked more like a burn that a scrape, I assume that the friction between the pavement and the jeans was pretty extreme and caused my road rash.
The jeans were destroyed (and the Kevlar liner was shredded, but not torn), as was my jacket, my bike, my helmet, and almost me. By the way, the jeans were 4 years old and very worn...and they still did their job.
I have a new Triumph on order, and I will need to buy a new helmet, jacket, boots, and pants. I will be buying another pair of Draggin Jeans, but this time I will get the armor in the knees.

Sincerely,
Reginald French

Hi,

On January 7th 2008 - I was hit from behind, by an inattentive driver, as I was slowing down to enter a driveway.
I proceeded to do a very impressive impersonation of superman - without the cape. I flew 5.5 meters in front of my bike, watch from a bids eye view as my baby was being pushed along the ground, on her side by the offending car.
I landed knee/face first into the ground.
I had only a scratch on my helmet and not a mark on me - besides the bruise that would appear on my butt the next day from the car bonnet.
If it had not been for the added padding of the cargo pants on the knee and the kevlar - I would be a lot worse off than impact damage to my knee (no broken skin, just slammed the knee cap into the bones behind).
Over $4000 dollars damage to my 1995 XV750 Virago - but my jeans are fine. Never ride without them.

But all went according to plan: the trip, the bike, an earthmoving tractor and obviously Draggin Jeans, the very useful protection that functioned perfectly, mostly when we had to face the immense Himalayas.
Your clothing was sufficient to overcome the cold roads of Ladakh. I only had some trouble going between Turkey and Iran because of the heat, but in anycase the Australian jeans pass the test with flying colours.
I've already been to the editing office of Freeway and the reportage will be divided into two parts in December and then followed by January.
We'll see what comes out of it and then I'll let you know.

Good Morning,

We purchased several pairs of your Draggin Jeans a few years ago. We are in need of a new pair.
Six months ago my husband survived a very serious motorcycle crash where he broke 7 bones and was air lifted in a helicopter to our major trauma center.
Thanks to your jeans, his legs and knees were unscratched. From sliding down the road at 55mph the jeans had worn away right over both knees but the Kevlar patches remained un-torn, thus protecting his knees from major damage. The jeans did exactly what you claimed they would. We have told many people throughout the years about your jeans and how great they are, but now we have the proof.
Again, thank you for your great product!

Debbie Golin
PS: I've enclosed 2 pictures of his jeans. You can see that the jean material is gone but the kevlar is still there.

Thanks, I was recently involved in a single vehical crash, (not paying attention to the road).
The bike has been a right off but I came out with out even a bruise. However I managed to tear right through the Kevlar on my right knee.
Still didn't touch the skin. Imagine what my leg would of looked like without the protection.

Hi guys/gals

I brought a pair of you Traffic jeans 3 weeks ago after hearing good reports about your products and yesterday I had the undesirable chance to put them to the test.
As my bike slid out from under me hitting the a rough road at 70kph with the bike on top of my right leg. But due your you jeans I got no road rash what so ever.
The jeans got holes torn in the right knee and shin but due to that Kevlar I still have my skin.
I just wanted to say Thank you for such a great product and saving my arse. Since my accident my mates on seeing the results of me losing no skin they have rushed out to buy them a set for them selves.
Cheers keep up the great work.

Dear Draggin' Jeans,

I just wanted to thank you all for producing a superior product that actually works.
At the start of August I came off my Hyosung GT-650, due to a caged driver losing control around a corner, unfortunately I had only been riding for approximately one month at this stage and had no other option other than to lay the bike down on the exit of the corner I was half way through at the time.
I probably hit the road at around 60 or 70km/h, but my Draggin Traffic Jeans not only protected my legs from injury, but the denim didn't even tear.
I have recommended your product to all my mates who ride, and some who swore that nothing beats leather, have now gone out and bought your product.
I too will be going out and getting my self in to some Desert Camo Draggin's as soon as I can afford it ($1700 excess on the bike!!).
Thank you again, and keep up the good work!

hello all,

Just a bit of feed back.
I live in Alice Springs and commute 440kms every three weeks to Ayers rock, Uluru for work. While I often fly, I also use the Harley when time permits.
This Monday while riding down to work I seen two guys parked at Mt Ebenezer road house with BMW 1150gs. I rode straight though and at around 25 kms out and 160kms from the rock I spotted them in the mirror. It was 11.15am on a crystal clear day.
They must have been sitting on around 140k as I was just cruising along at 125k, the first rider pulled out to pass and when he was around 3 metres in front of me a roo jumped out just missing his bike, landed and jumped again just missing my l/h handle bar!
The rider turned to me and wiped his brow indicating how close it had been, looking under his arm I saw another roo coming and tried to warn him be he didn't even see it coming.
He hit it full on at 140km/hr the carnage that followed was horrific the panniers both broke off and parts of the bike went every where. It all happened directly in front of me at around 1-3 metres always, he slid 110 of my paces and had his hands badly damaged 6 broken ribs, punctured lung etc.
The point of this is that at 140k he went down on his right knee the jeans where shredded (Draggin jeans) but the liner was intact and he has no major injures to his legs.
I am amazed that they work so well, as soon as I can afford a set I am ordering them, brilliant stuff.
By the way the guys name is Kev and he is now in intensive care at Alice but I am sincerely sure that his injures would have been much much worse with out your product.

Well Done

My experience in a motorcycle fall.

As with many a weekend, I went out for a ride with some people who are motorcycle lovers like myself. I have a Honda 600 Naked which I like to enjoy on outings with my friends.
We were going from Barcelona to Basella and we were on our way back. In Basella, the group had divided itself into two and some of us had in mind to keep on riding until the evening.
A few kilometers after having morning tea, I had a problem with a left hand curve in the road that had no shoulder only a guardrail.
I did not enter the correct line for the curve and I saw myself heading towards the guardrail. I tried to recover and I almost made it, but exiting the bend there was no shoulder on the road that would allow me to stay on my bike.
Because I could not totally correct it, and I was heading towards the guardrail, I tried to lift the bike upright, so that most of the impact would be on the side of the bike, and that way would also avoid myself sliding under the guardrail.
The result was that the motorcycle impacted sideways against the guardrail, squashing the bottom half of my leg (saved by the boot) and pushing the radiator in on that side.
After the impact the bike and I were thrown towards the wrong side of the road, luckily no one was coming that way and the bike behind could avoid me.
The bike skidded on its left side for about 20 metres and myself, I was dragged about 10-15 metres on the asphalt.
The gear I was wearing was the following:Dainese Boots that held together perfectly and I still use them, Draggin Jeans Pants that only had a small perforation in the knee, Dainese cordura Jacket that disintergrated on the left sleeve and Shoei XR-1000 Helmet that held together perfectly, and although it ended up completely scratched on one side, the visor stayed on and was not broken.
I will explain my fall in a little further detail, so that you can see my experience with my equipment, in particular Draggin Jeans pants.
After impacting the guardrail where the right leg of my pants ended up scraped on the guardrail and at the same time got caught between the guardrail and the boot, I was sent flying and fell on my left side, dragging my leg, left arm and my head.
I had bruises on these parts of my body due to the impact. The pants were almost completely intact with only a small hole in the denim, the size of a finger (as you can see in the photos).
After I rolled over and went skidding on my back where the back of the jacket and the protections, did their job perfectly and suffered little damage. The jeans were dragged as well and the mark on the denim from my wallet can be seen on the right back pocket.
I am very happy with the result from the equipment I had on, that made the fall no more than a fright and a few bruises from the impact (apart from fixing the bike).
I think I was very lucky and am convinced that the equipment helped me, so I will keep using similar gear. The only difference is that now I have added protections to my Draggin Jeans to minimize the damage from hard impacts should I fall again.
I'm writing this experience so that people can be more conscious of the importance of wearing the right equipment and also in appreciation from Luis of Draggin Jeans, for the professionalism that he showed me when I bought my first pair of Draggin Jeans.

Hi Draggin

About three weeks ago on a chilly Adelaide morning while heading off for a ride on my Ducati 900 SS I did something I had not done in 25 years on a motorbike. Yes, I dropped the bike at the corner at the end of my street in full view of the neighbours who were walking their dog.
Thankfully I was wearing proper gear, which I always do. This included a pair of red Cammo Draggin Jeans (I have three pairs of different colours).
I and the bike met with the ground at about 30kms. Not all that fast but fast enough. I slid for 20 feet (mainly left side). The bike slid 40. I got up straight away and surveyed the damage.
The bike had quite a few deep scratches on the fairing and various broken bits and pieces (cost $1000). The damage to me was zero. Not a scratch, nothing. My jacket and gloves took a bit but mostly the friction was confined to my left thigh and leg.
This is where my red Cammos worked a treat. Not only did I have nothing to show for sliding 20 feet down the pavement but apart from a bit of light scuffing on the left back pocket I can hardly tell that the jeans have been on the road either!
Another great thing about Draggin jeans is that I will often have lunch out after a ride and I can walk into any restaurant without having to change.
These jeans are versatile but above all let me ride safe.
Cheers

Dear Draggin,

A couple of months ago my mates and I were on our way for our normal Sunday ride to Mt White Cafe.
It was on our way home I decided to Road Test my DRAGGIN JEANS I wasn't planning a car doing a U in front of me and all I could think was this is going to ... hurt! I hit the road about 50-60km.
After the fall I got up looked at my jeans and thought not bad they did the trick, I then looked at my knee and nearly past out. My side stand had snapped and ripped a big hole in them.
The Ambo showed up about 20 mins after the spill put me in the back. Before they could leave for the Hospital they spent 20 mins trying to cut my jeans off me. I was in no position to argue with them.
They wanted to know why they were so HARD TO CUT it took them 20 minutes to cut them off me. I told them this was because of the KEVLAR on the inside of the DRAGGIN JEANS.
After they had finished dressing my knee they told me I was VERY LUCKY it could have been a lot worse.
I just thought I'd let you know the DRAGGIN JEANS saved my left leg from more serious injury. I'm now in the market to purchase another bike but my the first thing ill do is invest in another pair of DRAGGIN JEANS, they did more than cover my arse!!
I got 34 stitches in the left knee and a dislocated shoulder.

Hi guys.

I just wanted to thank you for the great Profuct you make and the forethought you had in making them in the first place.
I run a computer support business. Due to the rising fuel costs and the fact that I wanted one, I brought a motorbike for my average work day. Draggin Jeans mean I can get off the bike and just walk into my customers premesis' without looking like the Terminator!. I own a set of cargos
5 Weeks ago (After only being on the bike 8 months) I was going between jobs when a stationwagon stopped at a GREEN light. In avoiding a collision I was thrown from the bike and slid along the gutter a little way.
Even while I was sliding I was confident I would be fine, I had seen the video on your website of someone (The owner?) being dragged behind a Dragster on ashphalt with only his Draggins as protection, I knew my skin would be safe.
After the accident I had Sprained my AC joint in my shoulder, a bit of carpet burn on my knees from the inside of the jeans, BUT NO ROAD BURN!! NO GRAVEL RASH!! NADA!! NUTHIN!! My Cargos took the damage, not me. My Jacket was wrecked and my jeans are scuffed but I live to tell the tale.
It has highlighted to me the importance of wearing the right gear! ALL THE TIME!! I know it was only a minor accident compared to other letters you have received, but you don't need to have a big accident to have Draggins prove themselves. Thanks again gang

Last weekend, Saturday the 21st of October, I had an accident on my motorbike, a red 1996 Suzuki GS500E.
I came off down near a coastally town (Batemans Bay) that I rode my motorbike to that day to have lunch at with some friends.
I am writing this email to you today because I was wearing my Draggin Traffic Jeans at the time of the crash, and if it had not been for those jeans I would definitely have required skin grafts.
When I came off my motorbike I was doing about 80kmph (I think that's about 45mph?) and I was going around a corner when I fell to one side with the motorbike, scraping my right leg on the gravel then got thrown over the motorbike landing on my left side where I then slid on my left side.
The most damage I received to my awesome Draggin Jeans was when the AMBULANCE MEN CUT THEM OFF ME!! My legs and knees stayed intact with a minor cut and little scratch on each. - A SMALL price to pay for kissing cement at 80kmph!!
However if I think about what might have happened if I was not wearing your jeans, or a cheaper (or different brand) of motorcycle pants, I shudder...
Your jeans saved MY legs!!!!
This is just a quick email to say THANK YOU for your quality jeans and to let you know that I WILL be buying ANOTHER pair of Draggin Jeans (when I have saved up enough, and it will be another pair of Traffic AND a pair of your urban Combat pants) and I have already told everyone I know about the incident and the great job YOUR pants did of protecting me.
As long as I ride, I will always ride in Draggin!! :-)

Yours Sincerely,

Hello Ben:

The cargo pants arrived a week ago. I used them all weekend long on a 1500 mile trip to "The Tail of the Dragon, TN, USA"(I'm sure you might have heard of it, but if not, I suggest you check out the official website by the same name.
This place has the name of your product written all over it, and surely the need for them!) and I was very pleased with the comfort and style they provided, as well as the protection (even thou I didn't have to test them this time, thank God!), but it sure was reassuring to know that I was protected by your product.
The knee pads for some reason, just didn't seem to fit right at all, or to protect appropriately. I had to opt for not using them due to the fact that the pants lack the space for them, a proper way of holding them in place, or the wearing comfort and fit.
I was trying to ride with them on, when one of them just fell right off in the middle of the street, from inside my pants' legs, while riding! As a suggestion, your company should look into the construction of the "5.11 Tactical pants" for possible ideas and improvement options to your product.
They have an ample space for the legs, and have a hidden pocket in the knees, accessible from the inside of the pants, where you can insert kneepads at just the right spot/height. Something of this nature, would be a great improvement on your product.
I would sure like to buy some like that. I think that If I was ever to fall while wearing your product, I would most likely re-saw the kevlar material inside some 5.11 to be able to use that knee pad pocket feature.
Thanks for the ball cap and the T-shirt. I loved them both, but unfortunately had to give away the shirt because I am an XL and it was an M. Everybody in my trip had something to do or say about the pants.
Two of my friends even barrowed them for a while to try them out and to go riding with them. They were more than pleased and impressed, I almost had to fight them just to get my pants back! LOL! I told them about your website and where to find the product.
Well Ben, thanks again for all your great costumer service.

Dear Draggin'

Having worn your products for several years I recently put them to the test. At the time was I wearing a pair of your jeans and an ultra light jacket, with elbow and back protection.
I do long distance commuting in Western Australia and was close to home after riding for several hundred kilometres. It was there that I encountered several kangaroos on the highway which in itself is not that unusual. I know that I slowed down and while the roo's left the road as I passed them, one decided to jump back right under my front wheel. I have no idea how fast I was going at impact, but I slide some 100 metres up the road ending up close to my bike.
I suffered a compound fracture of my knee cap and ripped the Kevlar on that knee. My leather gloves and boots were shredded and one boot was ripped right off, leaving some scraps on my hand and foot.
The rest of me was unmarked even though I slide on my back and rolled face down. Thank goodness for a full face helmet. The Kevlar protection was excellent and certainly saved me from much more serious injury. The pants are ripped but the rest of the Kevlar, except for the knee, remained intact.
The ultra light jacket was amazing and much stronger than I thought it would be. It seems to have survived with minor few holes and tears. Most of these were on my arms and I am convinced that the elbow armour also helped.
Of course as you have heard before the hospital staff were surprised that I had no serious burns or grazes.
Thanks for a great product which is also very comfortable and practical, even in our hot summer.

Dear Grant,

Friends and I had made arrangements to go for a Xmas ride and, as per the police statement, we were involved in one of the biggest motorcycle accidents of the 2005 year.
The accident involved three motorcycles, my freind Sean with his wife Lisa as pillion, myself and my partner Sue as my pillion and the third bike which caused the accident, the rider was killed when I impacted with him.
Sean and Lisa were wearing normal jeans and leather jackets, top line helmets and leather riding boots. Lisa was killed in the accident, Sean had a shatted ankle from the other rider headbutting his ankle in the accident but he also lost a lot of skin on his legs because he didn't have the protection of Draggin jeans.
Sue and I have been wearing Draggin jeans for some time as it gives us the freedom of comfort when stopped on rides but still gives us the protection while on a day ride with friends.
Sue and I were injured the most which was caused from our own motorcycle coming into contact with us, it bounced on me first shattering my upper femur and hip, it then rolled over me and impacted with Sue, smashing her helmet and continueing down her body till it rested on her legs.
Even though our injures were extensive, we lost no skin and suffered no burns from the hot exhaust because of the Draggin Jeans.
The Paramedics destroyed two pairs of sissors trying to remove the jeans, I wish I could have sent them to you but the Police destroyed all our gear as it was "contaminated" with the needles and medical leftovers.
I can tell you it took them 10 minutes to remove my jeans alone, were it took less then 30 seconds to remove my $1500.00 Alpinestar Leather Jacket, the same applied to Sue's gear.
No one could forsee the tramau that was inflicked to us that day but without Draggin Jeans on Sue and I could still be going through skin grafts and rehab.
Sue is back at work part time building up to normal hours next week, I return to work on Monday the 13/03 some 12 weeks after the accident but it will live with use 24/7 for the rest of our lives.
We are determined to continue riding and not letting someones mistake spoil our love of riding or days with friends on the road.
Your representives said the company would replace the jeans free of charge when I sent them this story, this was not expected and we are both very grateful, but we were willing to buy jeans at the Expo as we believe in them so strongly.
Thank you Draggin Jeans. I have told everybody that will listen to invest in a pair or two, they won't beat a leather suit on a trackday with the added protection of impact pads but for the days when we wish to go for a gentle ride on a hot day or even a cool day, they give you the freedom to sit at a caf'e or restaurant in some comfort and look normal.

Thanks again,

I kind of feel like im qualified to know whether something's good or not! Your jeans just completed one of motorcycling toughest challenges on earth. No really! 4600 kilometres on road and off, up mountains and down, across bridgeless rivers, across arid plains etc, ect and yes on a 1950s Royal Enfield bullet.
Rode in them, slept in them, swam in them, and even crashed in them."Bolt vibrated out of the torque arm on a bend in Munnar the highest tea plantation in the world, brakes lock up.you know the rest! "
Even after throwing myself up the road in the morning, by the evening once again, on a beach.relaxtion and shorts were only a" zip away".
Got home slung them in the washing machine and they're like as good as new once more, and id feel naked next year, without them!

G'Day, I thought I should send you a note about my recent mishap.
Long story short, I highsided my bike at about 80ks which through me about 25foot into a drainage ditch flat on my arse, then the bike landed on top of me with the rear brake disc resting on the inside of my leg just above my knee pinning me down.
It was a minute or so before the rest of the pack got to me, then quite a few more moments before they got the bike off me cause they thought my leg was broken.
The end result was a very bent bike, some bruising to me from the landing and bike landing on me and a second degree burn on my leg, no abrasions whatsoever thanks to the Draggin cargos I was wearing and quite a small burn thanks to the Kevlar at the knees ( it was estimated that the brake disc was somewhere around the 500-600 degree mark when I crashed ) and would have burnt to the bone with out the Kevlar ( leather would have made the matter worse in the way it traps heat).
As it was I was up and walking as soon as the bike was off me, and able to ride the bike away.
Thank you for a wonderful product.

Cheers

Hi Draggin Jeans.

It was good to be able to meet you at the Ally Pally Bike show in London and to be able to shake your hand in person.
I'd had my jeans for a couple of years, bought them at the bike show actually, and there's nothing better on a sunny day than being able to wear a set of jeans rather than sweating it out all clad in leather.
My experience happened on the way to work riding my Triumph Adventurer along the M4 to between junctions 16 and 15.
I was approaching J15, my exit, when the inside lane quickly ground to a halt, they had backed up from the traffic lights down the off ramp and onto the inside lane, the whole line of cars vans and me managed to stop no problem.
However the car behind failed to stop with us, or in fact slow down at all, and hit me from behind at 70mph.
I remember seeing it in my mirrors and thinking she don't look like she's going to stop in time, along with wow can eyes really get that big, and then I was on the road on my side.
A quick check of my hands and arms showed they seemed ok but my left leg had developed another knee below the original. That'll be broken then I thought.
The ambulance turned up and got to work, aint gas and air great, They took off my boots and cut off my jeans, sob, and seeing my injuries and how far along the road I'd come they couldn't believe I had any skin left on my legs let alone that there were no scuff marks at all, the jeans had done a fantastic job and were barely scuffed through the only real hole being where a boot buckle had gone through as it was dragged along the road.
The broken leg was caused by getting it caught under the bike as the car went over it and has taken 7 months for me to get up and about on it again.
It's now an inch shorter and missing two and a half inches of Tibia, thankfully I have a titanium rod that's working well as a bone until mine re-grows around it.
But I can't help but wonder how much more uncomfortable my recovery would have been if I'd had to have bits of skin patched back up as well, thanks again all at Draggin jeans.

Hello draggin Jeans,

On the 28th of January 2006 this year I had the miss fortune of writing off my 2004 XJR1300 on the way to Jambaroo after being run off the road by an SS Commodore, thanks to the Kevlar knee pads in my Draggin Jeans that protect my knees I have minimal damage to my right knee after the fins of the engine hit a rock and then caught my Draggin Jeans and twisted my knee cap area sideways.
2 operation later and I have replaced the bike and will be riding again thanks to the extra strength and protection afforded me by my Draggin jeans, the doctors where amazed I was up and walking after only 2 weeks and when I explain that I had worn the prectective jeans they were full of praise for your product.
Again thank you very much for such a great safety clothing product.

Hello Grant,

I have attached some pics I have showing where and what damage was done to Draggin Jeans and bike on the road between Albion Park and Jambaroo in NSW on 28th January 2006, basically when the bike hit the rock as it passed on the up hill right hand side of the road avoiding a SS Commodore who crossed to my side through the corner, the fins of the engine caught the rock at approx 50kph due to front brake allowing the front wheels to skids in rock fragments on the concrete on the edge of the road.
As I went over the handle bars the fins then caught the seam of the inside right leg of the jeans and as I went down the lower right cuff at end of the hem of the jeans as well. I was wearing a Good pair of RJays boots at the time.
I am not sure that there is much can be done to modify the jeans as such, unless the seam can be moved around and under the leg/knee area but then this would impede the movement of the rider as they sit on the bike and cause discomfort when bending knees etc OR You may have some idea as to how a slideing plate/smooth surface can be used so that the inside knee area can be able to smoothly slide if it came in to contact with anything in this inside knee area.eg the fins of an engine or protruding fairing peice etc.
What matters most is that , I still have my knee and therefore my leg as well and am able to use it into the future and keep enjoy my riding thanks to my Draggins.

Stay Safe

Hi Guys,

Thought I'd give you guys a big thank you for literally saving my ass.
Was practicing the other week for an upcoming show and lost a wheelie at roughly the 130Kph mark.
I mean I've already had quite a few 40-60Kph stacks during practice in those jeans but this was the first with some real force. Lets just say that if I were wearing the skate sort of jeans I used to wear for stunts before you guys hooked our team up, I'd be in hospital right now.
I've attached some pics of the bike, the jeans and my other equipment. When seeing how much everything else copped it, it's amazing how the jeans held up. Not only that but the armour insert which had a peg rip through it, saved me some surgery time.
Anyway I'm 100% but have a bike to re-build.
Till then, take care and have an awesome Xmas!!! I know I will cos BBQ tastes way f...ing better then hospital food :)

Cheers,
Pete

Grant,

Thank you so much for the well wishes!!
Let me tell you a story, the Draggin jeans I ordered showed up the day before my big trip from Kansas to South Carolina. It is about a 22-hour ride, and 45 minutes from my destination I decided to pass a small pick up truck.
The driver didn't see me an in turn decided to pass the vehicle in front of her. She made a quick swerve into my lane an slammed into me, I was travelling about 70 mph an went careening out of control an ended up sliding for yards on my bran new Draggin jeans.
Not a single mark on my lower body did i receive, the jeans took the high-speed fall and the slide, quite literally saving my ass. I ended up with a broken nose--my full-face helmet went thwackkkkkkkkk on the ground a shattered the faceplate.
I had a dislocated shoulder and a broken collarbone. Everything covered by Kevlar was incre for using the best damn gear you can find an that would be your Kevlar reinforced clothing.
I cannot say thank you enough for giving us the ability to get up a walk away from a crash such as this.
Your company is an asset to riders all over the world.
The next obvious step would be a motorcycle made from Kevlar.

Many hugs and kisses from Valorie in Kansas soon to be South Carolina

Dear Draggin,

I have been wearing my comfortable old Draggin Jeans for about three years, but had never actually 'roadtested' them until last Friday.
Riding out to visit a mate after work, there had been a brief period of light rain, followed by sunshine, and the road had dried quickly. Turning into a side street in an industrial area, I was approaching a give way sign at about 50km/h or less intending to slow rather than stop, as there was good visibility and no traffic. I touched the front brake, and BANG! I was instantly transformed into a crash test dummy.
A lowside at 50km/h doesn't sound too dramatic, but it can really mess up your bike, as the attached picture shows. Walking back to look closely at the road afterwards, revealed thin scattered patches of stuff which had been spilled onto the surface.
It looked and felt a bit like dried silicone sealant which had been squished into the road by traffic and wasn't noticeably different in appearance to the rest of the surface.
In an industrial area, you just don't know what might have been spilled, or leaked, onto the road. Add a little bit of moisture, and you can be in strife before you know it.
After 35 years on bikes I got a none too gentle reminder that surface grip can't be taken for granted. Unlike a crash test dummy, however, I was wearing your excellent jeans which suffered in protecting me completely against any abrasion injury.
Thanks to your policy of low cost replacement, I now have a new pair of jeans which hopefully won't be put to the test like the last pair. Fixing the bike will be considerably more expensive!

Kind regards,
Chris

Hi, I just wanted to send you an email confirming that I have recieved my order and also to thank you
I was knocked off my bike last thursday on the M25 (6.30 am in the fast lane, lovely place for an accident) and its only down to me wearing your product that I saved my knees.
I cant walk at the minute without crutches and luckily I didnt do anything major but the hospital staff were impressed (as were the police) when they saw the damage i'd done to myself and my bike and that my trousers from yourselves were intact.
The outer material ripped on the knee as did the material on my left hip and right pocket, but the kevlar stayed firm and strong and has defiantely saved my skin.
Thanks very much I will be recommending your products to all my mates,

In early April, my wife and I were travelling in a fairly remote area at 100 km/hr when we hit a 40-50 kg roo that bounded from the scrub.
We hit the roo slightly off center, which drove the bike rapidly down before it high-sided us a couple of meters into the air. Our friends, who were riding behind us, described the rest as sliding, rolling, tumbling and bouncing.
My friend visited the site a few days later and measured our point of rest at 77 and 79 meters from the collision.
We were both wearing protective gear that included full-face helmets, armoured jackets, leather gloves and Draggin Jeans.
All garments suffered some form of damage in the accident but it was the Draggin Jeans that surprised us with their durability and resistance to abrasion or tearing.
Neither of us suffered substantial skin loss during the long slide along the bitumen road. We originally chose Draggin Jeans so that we could travel into outback areas during the hotter weather and remain reasonably comfortable in the heat.
The Draggin's are the most comfortable jeans that we have ever worn and they have far exceeded our expectations during adverse conditions.

To Draggin Jeans

I just wanted to write to you because today I went down on my bike.
I was wearing a pair of Draggin Jeans and they held up great.
I slid on my side, knee and rear. The only hole was on my right knee and the hole did not go through the kevlar.
I know that if I were not wearing your jeans, I would have had more injuries to my skin.

Thank you again,

Hi Draggin,

I bought a new Kawasaki ZRX1200R two weeks ago After a 18 yr absence from motorbikes. I also purchased all new riding gear including Dragging jeans from Boltons Kawasaki in South Australia.
We rode from Adeliade to Jindabyne NSW up thru the Snowy mountains and back to Adeliade 2700km, and i would like to comment on such a good quality product you have all manfuctured and a comfortable and stylish piece of riding equipment.
And most of all from seeing your Product testing imformation i see they work well, and lets hope i never have to put them to the test lol.
I will be purchasing a second pair of Draggin jeans very soon.
Keep up the good work.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to let you know of my satisfaction of my recent purchase of a K shirt although it was difficult to find the shirts in my local bike shops, so I orderded one through Tony Armstrong Suzuki of Underwood and found their service prompt and helpful.
I now use the K shirt along with my draggin jeans and find both shirt and jeans comfortable and a perfect fit.
The shirt is worn under my Dri-drider summer jacket and I have not found it to be excessivley warm even on hot days so I would like to say congratulations on a great product.

Yours sincerely

I was on my way for a ride and got as far as two blocks from home when I encountered a patch of diesel on the rounderabout in wallan.
I Had to replace my helmet and jacket, the jeans only had three small holes which can be fixed.
The bike cost $2000 to fix, so the jeans are worth the small investment too save some skin,

To: dragginjeans

I felt compelled to let you know how good your product is.
I purchased a pair of the cargo pants about a year ago, as well as two pairs of jeans for my dad. I wear the cargo pants each time I ride my CBR 929RR.
Being from LA and part of Ruff Ryders motorcycle organization, stunt riding is very popular and enticing. I ride safe and always suited up. A rider never expects to go down but it is inevitable the more extreme you ride. Nevertheless I am always prepared with all my gear on.
On Christmas day my dad, my brother, some friends (w/ cameras) and I went down to a local straight away to get some shots on camera. We had only planned to be there for a few minutes, as it was Christmas and there were places to be.
I threw a few wheelies for the camera and we decided that was good enough for the day. Every one split towards home. I was turning around to head home as well. My girlfriend and a friend of mine were following me. I signaled them to get one more shot with the camera.
As they passed me I shifted to 2nd and popped the clutch to coax the front tire up, as the Rs started to increase I was mentally prepared for the amazing feeling of a wheelie. Unfortunately I got the uneasy feeling of weightlessness and the sight of redline and blue sky. I was in the process of looping my bike.
I felt the tail reach 12:00 and then 12:15 and then my butt hit the asphalt. I began the slide, tumble, stand up, tumble, slide, and roll routine. I popped up, ran to my bike, picked it up, and rode it about a mile to my house.
I then began to surmise the damage to me and the bike. I suffered a pretty decent scrape on my left knee, which required 5 stitches. My Draggins were severely torn up, with the exception of the Kevlar, which proved to have truly saved my ass.
Upon further review my knee was affected because when I landed on my butt it lifted my left pant leg to an area that did not have Kevlar. With the exception of a minor knee injury, I suffered no other visual signs that I slid across a deteriorated asphalt surface.
Unfortunately my bike was not equipped with Draggin jeans, it suffered some more substantial damage. All in all, I am in great shape. My Draggins and bike excluded.
The moral off the story is that I will never ride again without your product. Thank you for making it safer to ride for me and my family.

Hi Draggin Jeans

I received my pair of jeans today. Believe me when I say I was blown away by your service. Not to run my country down, but I would have waited at least a week if ordered from a store within South-Africa.
The jeans fit fine and I am happy with my choice. My parents in law lives in Australia for the past three years, and we visited your country this past December. I can vouch for the overall service excellence of Australia.
Thanks again for great service which is refreshing to experience. I will most definitely recommend your product and company to every biker I know.

Jim has told a tale on Wednesday 18 February, 2004

I was leaving the Samford township (just west of Brisbane) on what appeared to be a long stretch of straight road leading up to a hill.
As it was late at night and there was not too many people around, I decided to indulge my new Honda CBR600RR by feeding the secondary fuel injectors (which only come on in a Full throttle over 5000 rpm situation) and accelerate into Fourth gear past 150klm per hour.
What was more exhilarating was the rate of increase rather than the actual speed being travelled. The night was actually quite cool and I was dressed semi-responsibly - Helmet, T-shirt.., gloves, Draggin Jeans and my boots.
As it was so cool and I was only wearing a T-shirt, I decided to hide my self behind the screen to avoid the cool wind momentarily taking my concentration off the road and the road sign that indicated a left turn approaching (at high speed).
As you can imagine, when I did eventually stick my head up to see where the road had gone, it was too late! I applied the brakes as hard as I could considering the road conditions (slippery) trying carefully to keep to the 90 % front and 10% rear rule and not soil myself at the same time, but it was too late!
As the back wheel and my Michellin Pilots locked up, the bike slid out landing on my left leg and dragging me down the road, off on to the lip and down on the grass.
At this stage, the bike and I separated company (luckily) and I stopped sliding as the bike tumbled narrowly missing the barbed wire fence.
As this all happened very quickly, I did not know what to expect so I got to up and started checking for any missing appendages on myself and then the bike.
I am happy to say that due to me wearing my Draggin Jeans, the scrapes that I received were all obvious on the outside of my jeans only.
Not only had the jeans saved my skin, quite literally, but they washed up beautifully as if not much had happened. The bike however, is costing me $6000 to repair.
It's a shame they don't make Draggin Jeans for bikes!

Ride Safe, wear Draggin Jeans!

I recently laid my Honda CBR600F4i down going about 40MPH around a turn.
Thankfully I was wearing your cargo pants and complimentary knee pads at the time. I landed directly on my knee and then slid for about 30ft. I was able to ride away with with only a 3in square of road rash on my calf.
The kevlar part of the pants worked flawlessly, but the bottom part of the pants ripped when I slid. May I suggest that it might be worth it to put kevlar all the way down the leg. Either way, the pants definitely saved me from injuries that could have been much worse.
Thanks.

Other than some burns on my knees from sliding i'm ok & the pants did extremely well. Other than some stitching from the outter pocket being torn out the pants they didn't even get a hole in them.
Thanks again for making a product that is safe & practical for everyday use.

Hi - well - what can I say ...

1) I ordered my Draggin Jeans (Cargo Pants) on 13th July, they arrived by secure delivery on 15th July.
2) The whole time I was extremely well informed via e-mail. (My invoice, confirmation, who would be shipping my order plus their contact details.) This was from both DragginJeans.com.au and the "stock shipper" in UK. All e-mails were very friendly and my order seemed of value to the company.
3) Wow! They are VERY well made jeans - attention to detail The fabric is very strong, yet amazingly soft - this I did not expect! They feel lovely, not stiff, scratchy and uncomfortable. Comfy as hell! The cut of the jeans is very well thought out. They fit like a glove! MY regular jeans don`t even do that!!!! The leg length is brilliant - especially as I am tall, plus the fact that they will still be long enough - ie not ride up - when I`m on the bike.

To say I am happy is too much of an understatement - I am absolutely THRILLED TO BITS!
I am delighted with the whole process - you all made this so easy, and to be SO happy with the item (especially as I was going on reputation and curiosity - I`d not seen / felt your product before) - well, I cannot praise you all enough!
I only hope now that I never have to "try" my new jeans out, and I manage to avoid any scrapes, scuffles or falls from my bike. :)
Once again - a HUGE thankyou to you all. I shall definately be back again for myself, and am also going to save up to buy an identical pair for my best friend! (It`ll be a great gift for when she passes her test!)
I really cannot express just how happy I am.
THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU!

Yours faithfully,
Lara .

I have just approved a new preferred supplier for us to use. The company is Draggin Jeans and I have been doing several months research into their products, basically they make Denim Jeans and Cargo style Pants.
"So what" I here you cry well these are lined in the correct area's with Kevlar this is the best safety material if one falls off one's Wing so I am told.
They operate throughout the world and have many Websites. The main interest for me personally and other members who have expressed is that they cater for the fuller figure both in the man and women designs.
Those of you joining in the weekend fun will see my dear wife Christine modeling a pair of the new cargo Jeans "Subject to it ever stopping raining! " On that note the Draggin Jeans also come with the option to have what they call dry's.
The jeans and jackets have the facility to insert armour too if you so wish.
The main point of these products being that you can dress and look smart/casual but ride your bike the area's I see them as a essential part are when we go for short week end ride outs and when it is very hot e.g. when I go to Southern Italy later this year I see myself in a new....... made to measure pair of Dry Cargos and the latest all new lightweight jacket and possibly a pair of their Jeans...
So that is the basic products have a look around the site. The more people use and buy from them the better it will be We can also have elite-wings logo on their products I will give you all the details of how to order etc etc I am being measured later this week end.
Any one else wanting to order Made to measure talk to me remember it takes 4-6 weeks as they are made in Oz. We receive a 10% trading discount "I know not a lot but lets see first" after giving membership numbers and a reference.
We deal direct with the makers NOT M/C SHOPS.......see attached letter from them to me list of dealers mainly HD centers....
any one want to talk to me re these call me 07736 157500 I have talked to actual bike riders in Oz and USA who are using these products and they all give glowing reports........

Dear Draggin Jeans

It was a beautiful, sunny, summer's evening, riding alone on the minor winding, well-surfaced and dry roads in the Vale of York.
I came to a 'T' junction, where there was good long distance visibility all round. There were no other vehicles in sight, so I changed down and started to power gently round the corner at between 20 and 30mph.
At the apex of the corner I was met by a lake of oil, which I later learned had come from a Landrover that had lost its sump plug!
I had no control over the events of the next few seconds, just the impressions of my bike going down on the nearside, its wheels digging into the road and it becoming airborne before landing on its other side. It ended up 40 metres down the road.
I came to rest on my back, arms and legs akimbo, having rolled and slid some 20 metres. My Draggin Jeans UltraLight jacket and chinos, equipped with their CE armour pads, took the brunt of the impact and I only sustained bruising and minor friction grazing.
Despite the distance I had travelled on the tarmac, the clothing showed only minor damage to the fabrics, but in these damaged areas, the Kevlar lining that was exposed was intact, and undoubtedly saved my skin!
I have ordered replacements from Draggin Jeans as I am now fully convinced of both their comfort and, more importantly, their effectiveness in the case of an accident.

Best wishes,
Sqn.Ldr. Spike Wilson.

Most of my Harley buddies like that plain/classic look. No tab No design. I like the way you do the leather draggin jean design on the back. You can put the belt over the design or under to hold the jeans in place in case of a fall.
I will be ordering more in the future. Exactly the same.
The jeans are perfect. With chaps and your jeans I truly feel safer without wearing those leather suits.

Draggin' Jeans - good service
I feel compelled to add yet another good news story to the many I've read about Draggin' Jeans. Thankfully mine has nothing to do with an 'off'.
I recently bought a pair, prompted by Justin's tale of how well his pair protected him when he binned the CBR, but the Kevlar protection over the knee area is a bit short for me, riding up to mid-knee level when on the bike.
I emailed Draggin' Jeans asking if there was a fix and got a quick reply saying send down the jeans with $10 for postage and handling and they'll sort it.
Now that is what I call service. And I think I can hear the sound of a Draggin' Jacket callin' my name...

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to provide feedback on your Draggin Jeans.
On Friday 4/4/03, I had the unpleasant experience fo hitting a kangaroo on my motorbike. I was able to walk away from this accident. I was lucky.
Wearing good motorcycle gear was the major lucky part. Good helmet, jacket, gloves, boots and Draggin Jeans. I was travelling at around 80-90 kmh when it all happened.
I flew over the handle bars rolling and sliding some 35 metres on bitumen road. Although the knees in the Draggin Jeans did tear slightly I was only battered and bruised with some skin off my elbows and knees.
As my brother said to me, "lucky you were wearing those Draggin Jeans as you would have required skin grafts".
So if anyone asks me I will be happy to recommend Draggin Jeans Clothing.

Hi Grant

On Saturday 25th March, as I was travelling to Nuriootpa and on the road into Broken Hill, I hit a bump in the road on a right hand bend, and got the `wobbles' up, I straightened up, then tried to get the bike back into the bend, but couldn't make it :-( I came off the shoulder of the road at about 100 kph, and plummeted down an embankment before managing to bring the bike back parallel to the road, on the dirt.
It was thornbush desert country, full of red dirt and loose rocks and as I tried to stay upright and slow down, I was bashing past thornbushes every where.
I rode it out for about 100 meters, before running out of anywhere to go, and looking around for something to slow me down and break the fall, spotted a large thornbush and headed straight for it, finally letting the bike go as I hit it.
I went fair and square into the thornbush and split it in half and the bike slewed off to the left, back down the slope.
I reckon I hit the thronbush at about 50kph, as I had looked at the clock just before then and it was still reading 80kph.
I remember thinking to myself that I had to slow the bike down some more before letting go. I rolled and tumbled through that bush and over the stones, before getting to my knees and realising I was OK, giving the thumbs up to the guys who had been riding behind me.
I thought I had completely trashed the bike and remember saying "I'm ok, but you'll need a truck for the bike!"
We limped into Broken Hill, the front end of the bike was really twisted, and I got a friend to take a photo of me & the bike, (see below).
What really suprised me was the state of my `draggin jeans', not a mark on them! not a thread pulled, nor a scuffed corner.
I washed them the next day and they came up like new. All I had was a twisted ankle and a couple of small bruises on my knees.
I believe your jeans performed admirably in helping prevent abrasions and protecting my skin.
I live and ride in Townsville North Qld. I commute to work every day on my bike. It is way too hot to wear leather all the time in NQ and I am really pleased to have found your product.
Let me know when you make a denim & Kevlar jacket! Please feel free to use the above statements in promoting your product.

On the 26 th December 2002, I was riding from Roma (Qld) to Maryborough (Qld).
At approx 4.45 pm there was a very severe windstorm accompanied by very heavy rain. This necessitated me in having to stop in the town of Biggenden (Qld) to attend to nature among other things.
Once the rain had eased off and I proceeded on my way. Approximately about 4 kilometres from the town a tree had fallen across the roadway as a result of the severe windstorm.
You can imagine what happened when a moving object hits an immovable one.......the bike and I hit the tar with some force.......I will let you use your imagination!
The bike received 4000 dollars damage and I received a broken rib plus numerous contusions and abrasions....quite painful in fact!
I put the lack of more severe injuries to the fact that I was totally enclosed in Draggin jeans products. I have been wearing the products for approx 24 months.
I am very surprised and grateful for the wear and abrasion resistant qualities of the products. I am about to order replacement items as soon as I finish here.
I have the utmost admiration for the Queensland ambulance officers who attended the accident. They commented as to the toughness of Draggin jeans because they had no end of trouble cutting through the Kevlar with their standard scissors.
They had to use a very heavy duty pair to remove my jacket in case I had any sort of spinal injury.
I am enclosing some photos with which you can do what may. (photos to come)

Cheers

Thought I would tell you how the draggin jeans saved my butt here in Northern California.
I was riding to my favorite burger place in traffic when I hit some mud at about 35 mph. Rear tire slid out and I was on my side with my BMW R1150R sliding ahead of me.
I landed on my left hip then slid on my belly for nearly 100 feet. I jumped up and inspected myself for damage. I was alright except for a little road rash on my left elbow.
I was wearing a FirstGear AirTex jacket and I think the elbow armor shifted in the slide.
Your jeans held up very well except for the oval cell phone screen pattern burned into the left front pocket! I Should have listened to my friends when they told me not to carry anything in your front pockets.
Thank you for a fine product.

Mike Rolfsmeyer has told a tale on Monday 05 August, 2002

I've had my draggin' cargos since a little after xmas 2001. Since then I've done two 'big' solo trips - - Detroit to Raliegh and back via the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, and then a fall colors tour up in the Michigan Upper Peninsula.
That's about 3700 miles, plus another 1500 miles of random local trips/commutes this past season almost exclusively with the cargos.
On first learning to ride a few years ago, I started with head-to-toe armored cordura . . . but with more time and confidence came closer to t-shirt/shorts/sandals.
Draggin's help curb that, as they're no sweat to put on, wear, or be seen in. (Actually they're probably my best looking khakis)
My 2 long-distance trips have had me in temps from 40F to 95F weather for up to 12 hours at a time, and the draggin's braved it all no worse for the wear (cycling shorts underneath definitely add saddle time).
They're much comfier than jeans in sweltering heat, yet somehow have an odd insulating/windcutting property on a chilly night.
The kneepads attach nicely after the cargos have been washed once, and seem like a substantial safety bonus. Though I'm not excited to test out those or the jeans, the materials are substantial enough to put your mind at ease.
Just a note to fellow fat yanks . . . oustide America, a size 36 MEANS 36!! A little bummed to find that out xmas morning, as Australia is a little more of a hike than the Gap.
Draggin AU was great about the exchange. When the new jeans came in, some shipper in California got smart and tried to charge me an additional customs tax.
It took a little doing (mostly on Grants & co's part) but they fixed what could have been an international bureaucratic nightmare without any fuss!
Keep up the good work guys!

Best regards,
Mike Rolfsmeyer

Roy Moore has told a tale on Saturday 13 July, 2002

Hi!
My name is Roy Moore and I own a GSXR-1100, I also own a pair of draggin' jeans which I always wear.
Recently I took a friend out for a ride, it was his first time he had been a pillion passenger on a motorbike, and I think his first time on a bike at all. We had gone for a quick 10km ride and were coming home. As I turned into my street I gave the old girl a bit of a squirt, proving to be a tragic decision.
My friend, who must have stopped paying attention as we were almost home, lurched back against the rack on acceleration, he's a chubby bloke as well. This caused the front wheel to lift off the road, and not expecting this to happen I lurched back pulling open the throttle.
The bike left us both in mid air as it wiped out and went sliding along the road, the two of us came crashing down and slid about 30 meters along the bitumen.
When we stopped I lept straight up and ran over to check my bike and lift it up, it was badly grazed to say the least. My friend was slower getting up and when I asked how he was he said his knee was sore.
His jeans which were just the usual denim jeans were all torn and his knee was bleeding badly. He had landed on top of me having his knee being the only part which contacted the road.
I then checked myself over and found my leather jacket to be badly grazed all up the front and grazed on the arms, and my elbow cut and bleeding. My boots, black docs were grazed but still in one piece.
My jeans were shiny all over the front from friction, but they were not torn or cut at all and my legs were fine, not grazed and not even bruised.
My friend who had been wearing normal jeans went to hospital to be told he would need skin graft surgery for his knee, most likely taking skin from another well padded part of his body to fix the damage.
I went to work 1/2 an hour later to do a night shift, and I owe my lucky escape from skin graft surgery to my draggin' jeans with kevlar inserts in the places which hit the road.
I have since had my bike fixed and am riding again, but I don't go anywhere without wearing my draggin' jeans. My mates seeing how good they are have also bought a pair.
These jeans won't save your life if you hit a truck, but your legs and bum will never have ugly scarring.
We were lucky it wasn't a high speed accident and we didn't break anything apart from the bike, but it just goes to show any accident can give you scars for ever.
My thanks to the draggin' jeans company.

They were very comfortable and I was very impressed with the workmanship. If you did the sewing well done. Quality control is obviously a priority. Good to see it for a change.
I was pleased to see some protection down the outside leg as well, I had only seen what must have been an old picture from a motorcycle.com link and it wasn't there.
Trish does jump up back from time to time and when she saw the quality she indicated that she would be in for a pair.

Just a short note to relate my recent experience wearing Draggin' jeans.
I was traveling through kancoban on my way to Jindabyne to the Triumph rally with a group from Ric Andrews Motorcycles.
The weather was perfect and the "S.T" was cruising around the sweeping bends until the front wheel hit a gravel patch on a bend bringing me down heavily.
The bike was a bloody mess. Luckily for me I was wearing all the right gear including my draggin' jeans.
The damage to the bike is around $10 000, personal injury- 2 grazed knees and a sore shoulder. Jeans - small hole in each knee, kevlar lining virtually not damaged, other gear severely torn.
My draggin' jeans saved me big time and certainly passed the test.

Dear Grant

We spoke on the phone in May when I rang to inform you of how thankful I was for wearing a pair of Draggin Jeans when I was involved in a solo bike accident.
Mr partner Jennie was having some problems with the rear end of her VFR 750 twitching in the wet.
As she was not feeling well I went on a solo ride to get a feel of the bike after a few adjustments to the suspension settings had been made.
Our usual quick ride is through the Numinbah Valley west of Surfers Paradise over the NSW boarder into Chillingham and back home over the Tomewin Range.
I came around a bend and was faced with a car in the middle of a one lane bridge. I applied the brakes, as I would on my own VFR 750, and the rear end broke out.
I had no option but to control the slide and hit the armco rail sideways. My leg took the full impact and broke Tibia and Fibula just below the knee.
I was still able to lay the bike down on the right side after bouncing off the rails. I skidded on by hip and arse for some distance still attached to the bike - however, once rested, my leg was entangled in the bike.
The splintered Fibula caused a compound wound when people who were giving me assistance, tried to untangle my leg from the bike.
The doctors who attended to me at the Gold Coast Hospital Emergency stated to Jennie how surprised they were that there were no more serious injuries to any part of the body especially the skin as they would've expected.
I'm telling you, there was not another scratch on me. This I put down to a bit of God given luck and Dragon Jeans.
My recovery is slow, I'd hate to think what it would have been like had skin grafts, or the like, been part of my recovery. Thanks to Draggin Jeans. I have returned the jeans as per our telephone conversation (all damage done to the jeans was due to Nurses and surgeons having to cut the jeans from my body), and hope the offer from you of a replacement pair for $100 still stands.
I haven't stopped raving to other riders of the benefits of a pair of Draggin Jeans and shall wear my next pair with much appreciation and comfort knowing what I know.
I'm a walking, talking advertisement for this fantastic product for which I thank you.

I find it damn near unbelievable that you can get an order (or return), fill it, turn it around, and have it arrive here in the States so quickly!

Thank you, for the DJs. We certainly put them to the test. I have to tell you about it.
During our touring of Germany and Italian Lakes the weather was unstable.
We never knew what to put on next because we did not know the forecast for the area and could not predict it as their weather pattern is very local to the mountain region, as I am sure you know.
However, we usually plumbed for the DJs as I was really caught out on the autostrada when it tipped it down and I dare not stop until I found a way off and a shelter to put on the Belstaf.
Although I had a wet posterior by the time I made it to a safe retreat under the extended roof of a Swiss Chalet type building, I just thought this is an awful way to travel.
We were lost, the map was forty years old and just did not seem to fit that part of the world that we were in. Eventually, we found the village that we could be in if the gut feeling was right and we headed across country to short cut two motorways.
It was tipping it down and the screen had seized so I could not blow the rain off the visor. It turned out to be an inspiration as the roads were magic and the view was wet but very interesting. Not that you would find it if you were looking so that made it more memorable.
The conclusion about wet weather wear is to use two layers. The main gear to keep off the heavy stuff and a secondary layer to keep out the seeps. Even though I had a wet bum from the downpoor, with DJs and Belstaff, it dried out en route and I was warm & comfortable.
I did not solve the gloves problem as when they are wet and you have to take them off at the toll, you can't get them back on! But my new ones did dry overnight but the older rain gloves were sodden for two days.
There must be a solution for dealing with really wet weather. It did occur to me that I should have put on the handlebar warmers but perhaps next time.

Your satisfied DJ users,
Peter & Jackie

I'd just like to express my reliefin the fact that I purchased your product a few months ago.
Having upgraded to a 600cc bike in the last year, I figured it was time to get a little more protection than normal jeans can offer. That'swhen I heard about Draggin Jeans.
I was glad I was wearing them yesterday when my bike slipped out on some fine sand when making a low speed left hand turn (about 30km/h).
I lost the front end and found myself sliding a short distance on the road, watching in horror as my bike spun 180 degrees and hit the gutter on the opposite side of the road.
The only damage to myself (other than pride, and wallet) was a grazed knee, my Draggins held up well, with only a slight tear on the outside of the left knee.
AU$200 may be a large sum for those of us who work casually, but its still a lot cheaper than a full leg skin graft.
Is there any way I can repair the slight rip?
Just goes to show, that no matter how sensible you ride, is its going to happen, its going to happen. When it does, make sure you are protected.

A quick note to say we have just returned from 3 weeks touring France.
1900miles round trip with our Dragon jeans and they were great.
We had temperatures from moderate to 40C and we did not have to dry out every time we got off the bike.
For the occasional wet day we used light waterproof pull-ups,easy to store for those occasions. Because of the heat most other bikers were wearing ordinary jeans!
However in the event of a fall, skin is too valuable and costly to repair, let the kevlar take the abuse, it is cheap at the price, even if one has to pay for every pair of jeans.

Thank you again

To Draggin Jeans

I have been using your Draggin Dry Jeans everday to ride to work, rain or shine.
I love them, nice and warm, kept me dry in all but one circumstance, as i live 35km from work and it poured the whole way and a tiny trickle come through but I still remained warm.
Everyone that come in I tell them about them. My only problem is now I use them too often to wash them so I think I need to buy another pair.
Great work guys, keep on making them ok.

To Draggin' Jeans

First off I own a couple pairs of Draggin Jeans. I find them very comfortable, smart looking and most of all I know they work.
I Hit the tarmac last year on Mt Beauty slid about 50 Mtrs and got up without a scratch, the jeans didn't even tear.
Mind you when I bought my first pair ( at your stand Phillip Island in '99 ) I took them home chucked them in the wash. Put 'em on the line, Dog got them, had them all day- only damage -two torn belt loops. Not bad since the dog was chewing everything to bits at the time.

Yours sincerely,

It was a lovely Saturday afternoon the weather was fantastic and the road conditions were quite good.
Travelling at warp speed with a couple of mates, all of us pretending to be GP riders of some sought.
I set myself up for the sweeping left hander, went down a cog or two ready to power through the new road I hadn't ridden on before when I realised I was in way too hot.
The back end started to slide and that's when I knew it was either get on the gas and lean it over further or try to do a Houdini and get out of it.
In that second which seemed like a lifetime I chose to get off the gas and that's when it all went horribly wrong. The bike immediately stood straight up an instead of going around the tightening sweeper I was now headed across the divisional white line, off the other side of the road and about to be a motor crosser... something the Duke wasn't designed for.
I got off the seat and the brakes and tried very calmly to steer the bike to the left before it plunged down a ravine that I was headed for. I successfully managed to miss the ravine only for the front end to tuck under me and I bit the dust.
Left handle bar hit the ground first, followed by my left elbow then left shoulder with the bike doing a forward somersault and me following in its path. I went over the bike and landed in a bush with a branch spearing under my visor into my nose and piercing the roof liner in my Arai, Arron Slight replica helmet.
I broke my left shoulder, now home to a couple of stainless surgical pins, broke my nose, a finger or two and smashed my right knee that required an operation to fix the knee cap and the ligaments I had snapped. It could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for the Draggin Jeans and some body armour. The Draggin jeans, are actually still in fine shape!
The bike was a right off but I still managed to ride the 65kms home on the Duke. "Legend eh"
I don't ride anymore.the family has laid down some home rules!!!
The love of my life, .... my Ducati 748R unfortunately is no longer here but luckily enough i am.

Dear Sir,

I purchased a Draggin Jeans Ultra Lite Jacket last November and thought I would let you know how pleased I am with it. It is ideal for summer riding.
I used to wear an old denim jacket in warm weather, never feeling at ease without any protection while riding.
The Kevlar lining in the arms and shoulders of the Ultra Lite gives extra safety. The jacket is as the name implies - light weight. You hardly notice it on.
The coarse weave of the material gives excellent air flow for coolness. As well as all this the black jacket looks good.
I also bought a blue pair of your Draggin Jeans soon after the jacket and have found them to be both comfortable and practical for year round riding.
Well done on some fine products.

Cheers,

Dear Sir,

The accident occurred early in the morning on the way to work in heavy fog, turning form one street into another at a T intersection.
After halting to listen for traffic, I commenced to move off and went over loose gravel left behind after roadworks. The gravel was not visible due to the foggy conditions.
The bike started to slide out from under me, and I fell, sliding about 7 metres, taking the full weight on my right elbow, which sustained a minor fracture (chipped bone) and grazing on the right elbow and knees.
I feel certain that my Draggin' Jeans summer rame jacket and Knox Armour were instrumental in saving me from much more serious injury, as the armour was penetrated by gravel.
Thank you once again

Yours sincerely

Peter Kelly has told a tale on Saturday 24 February, 2001

Well people, I am on the mend as the bruises fade and swelling goes down things are sort of getting back to normal.
I can't walk far I need a frame as I can't use crutches and am better off at the moment in the wheel chair although I'm not setting any speed records.
Driving the car is out too but I don't think it will be long and I will be on the back of the bike with Kel.
And to those of you who didn't know a thing about it here's what happened.
The third week of our honeymoon we went on a tour with the club and were having a great time till I didn't manage to finish a bend, south of Adelaide near McLaren Vale.
It is a strange thing to regain consciousness lying on the side of the road not sure how you got there wondering why my gloves were still on but my helmet was off and then thinking that I was thankful that I could move my hands and feet (painfully). I was also worried about Kellie's reaction to my accident and whether she would be ok.
Things over the next few hours are a bit of a blur. I remember the ride in the ambulance and the fact that I didn't think that I spent too long waiting in hospital for them to look after me.
I do remember them cutting my Deep Purple t-shirt off (not happy) but at least they didn't have to cut any of my gear off.
Now that I've looked at my gear I can see why I was so bruised. I had hit my right shoulder and side on the road / ground with marks down the whole right side Inc helmet.
The worrying thing but the one that seems to have caused the least injury was my head hitting the strainer post. (See attached Pics) the post the bike is laying next to is the one I hit my head on and came to rest with my left shoulder against.
Strangely with both legs under the bike I have basically no memory of the day at all. When reminded I do recall where we had lunch and what we had seen that morning.
Any way the gory stuff - starting at the bottom and working up; broken left ankle now with two screws holding it together, A big full depth burn on my right calf from the bike lying on me for about two minutes; 5 broken ribs.
I have got to tell you nothing I have ever felt causes me as much pain as those ribs. I am shit scared of even a sneeze and coughing, as that's something else even morphine doesn't help you.
There is a broken left shoulder blade, broken right collarbone. These two are real nuisance things as they stop me from getting around preventing me from using crutches and making the wheel chair hard work.
But one thing I am thankful of is the fact that I had basically no gravel rash. I was wearing good bike boots, "Draggin Jeans," my old mars leather jacket (which I was able to remove with all those broken bones), gloves (unmarked) and my not so old but now very second hand AGV.
The rest of the gear I will wear again and it goes to show how important what you wear is and how it saved me the complications of gravel rash on top of the injuries I sustained.
As to why it happened well I'm not sure. The corner is a sign posted 55 km corner and I didn't travel that far from the road to where I hit the fence so maybe I left the road doing 60? Who knows?
The bike had no problems doubling advised speeds plus another 20 sometimes and it's not a bike that "loses" the front. So what happened? Did I just stuff up (probably) or did something in the bike break (maybe) I haven't seen it yet to tell and there is no action replay on the road.
So here I am on the road to recovery and I cant wait till I can ride again just wish they would stop stuffing around and figure out what they are going to do with the bike as at this rate I will be fully recovered before I get it back.
Thanks again to all I have forgotten for your help and kind thoughts.

It was a typical Queensland summer day, about 35 deg. So as we were going in the state forest for our ride.
I thought that my draggin cargo's were the best bet. Riding along the dirt tracks the draggins were so nice a cool, letting just the right amount of ventilation through.
I was dropping back from my friend on his KTM 640, so I decided it was time to catch up.
Riding at a fair pace along this track, I came towards a fairly tight corner doing about 110km/h.
Realising that I was going a little too fast I tried to brake but the ruts were too big, so I decided to try and slide the bike around the corner.
The rear end stepped out very nicely, but the corner was still a little too tight. I slid the rear around further again, then trying to drive out of the corner thinking I have made it.
In a very graceful manouvere I started to low side. Thinking I could save it, continued on but to no success. I low sided at about 90 km/h. Sliding down the track thinking to myself I really hope that these draggins hold up.
I finally stopped picked my bike up dusted myself off, then looked down at my legs expecting the worst. I was so excited when there was no blood at all. Barely even a graze. The jeans had saved me from getting any injuries.
I have always recommended draggin jeans to everyone that I ride with. Now I have even more of a reason. So I continued on the rest of the day all be it a little more cautiously.
I am now a believer of the comfort and safety of the draggin clothing.
Hope to hear from you in the near future.

Road tested your jeans and armour they passed nicely.
What can I say; it was an almost fatal attraction she was 17, good looking so good she didn't feel a need to look where she was going.
I braked turned tried everything to avoid her but the attraction was too much; she crossed three lanes to come to meet me.
I landed on my left knee, the amour took the brunt of the fall thank God for that, I slid on my knee and forearm down the road, as I did so I could see that I was crossing over the centre line toward the oncoming traffic, not cool, words like "oh darn" came to mind.
I looked at my beautiful mint VFR750 sliding in front of me said farewell to it, great bike too, and kicked it with all my might straight into the on coming traffic.
Crazy you say, no there was method in my madness doing that stopped me sliding into oncoming traffic and perhaps saved my life as well.
So the damage report:Jeans shredded, Kevlar ok, Armour ok too. Technics jacket holed, burnt and melted. Gloves leather holed. And my skinned finger, skinned knee very minor.
Comments if there were a pocket for the armour it would not have moved and I wouldn't have scrapped my knee at all, but given I weigh 140kg landed on my knee and slide with nearly all my weight on that knee I can't complain can I? I will send photos when I can.

Hi Draggin,

I am just sending a quick email to let you know that I have conducted an unplanned field test of your dragging cargo jeans.
I came around a corner which had plenty of sand and gravel - wasn't there three hours before - and came off second best with the grip and gravity contention.
The result was $2,800 of damage to the bike, severe blow to the ego, ripped cotton knee of the jeans and unbroken kevlar panel - albeit blood soaked (a badge of courage or symbol or carelessness!!) due to the bash and friction issues.
I can only say thank you for a great product which definately saved my left knee and hip. The helmet, jacket, boots and gloves took some damage however the first thing to hit the road and take most of the impact was my left knee.
I live in Darwin and they are ideal for hot weather riding. I have the bull denim and cargo jeans and tell any and everyone who rides a bike about the jeans - not just because they are a great product but mainly to get them out of riding in shorts and T Shirts etc.
Quite often when I am wearing the jeans and tell people I have to unbutton them to show the kevlar panels because they don't believe that a comfortable and normal looking pair of jeans can have so much capability.
All the best for a safe and profitable 2001.

To Draggin Jeans;

I read your request to e-mail you about my recent misadventure on my Suzuki Hayabusa.
I can only assume that you are a legitimate representative for Draggin Jeans, and as such, I will take this opportunity to personally thank you for your products help in my accident.
As you probably noted during my explanation, I lost one shoe during my brief attempt at flight and those few seconds of no protection on my foot resulted in fairly severe lacerations and damage to my toes and the bottom of my foot, along with a broken big toe.
I spent more time on my back and sides however, than anywhere else while finally sliding to a stop, and although it tore holes in my Hein Gericke jacket (and my shirt underneath it that was sticking out!) it did not penetrate the Kevlar in your jeans at all.
I am certain that it saved me a huge amount of skin and tissue, and possibly even more serious injuries, because of the high speed I was going.
The denim covering the Kevlar in the seat was totally shredded, but the fabric inside just would not let the pavement through! That is why I was so happy to mention the help that your Draggin' Jeans gave me; I am sure I would have been much more badly hurt without them.
You can be proud that you sell a product that genuinely helps people when they most need it.

Thanks again,

Dear Grant,

Thankyou for the replacement offer of the jeans. Here is the story I promised you.
I was travelling to Sydney for God's Squad CMC's National run with a small group of other members.
We were about 10km north of Tarcutta on the Hume Highway when I came over the crest of a hill and rode into a dead roo that was lying on the road.
On hitting the roo the bike (Triumph T509 Speed Triple) went out of control, resulting in a high side, which broke my left arm. I then slid for another 160km down the wrong side of the Hume Highway before coming to a stop.
I ended up in Wagga Base Hospital. I sustained no further injuries apart form some grazes to my hands.
Medical staff at the hospital informed me that serious damage to my legs and hips was prevented by the Draggin Jeans and the knee/ shin guards that I was wearing at the time.
The protective qualities of the jeans was obvious to ambulance staff that attended the accident and to my friends. Hence I think they will be getting a pair when they can.
Thank you again and all the success in the world for your excellent products.

Yours Sincerely

Grant,

Find to follow a little letter to let you know about by recent test of Draggin Jeans (accidental test mind you) whilst working.
It was mid afternoon in May and we had hit the road to film for the next Las Vegas Extremes Video to be released in Australia and America.
The morning was dry, but lunch was followed by some heavy rain showers and hail.
Preparing to hit the roads around Inverloch for some scenic Mono shots, I mopped the water from the seat on my Buell M2 Cyclone and pulled by jacket tight around my draggin jeans.
The day called for a casual riding look of jeans and jacket. I couldn't think of anything better than my draggin jeans because I am never prepared to sacrifice safety considering what I do for a living!!
I was however a little unsure of how the jeans might shape up compared to a set of leathers. I was soon to find out......
As we worked our way towards to nice coastal areas to film, we hit a great big straight - yes! its mono time!
Up onto the pillion pegs and pull back on the handlebars, the Buell reared its head and carried me along the road, my mate chased close behind on his Ducati 916, and I turned swiftly to give him the thumbs up.
As the Buell came down on the glistening wet road the front end slipped away as if on ice. Before I even knew it I came down hard on my knee, pushed the bike away and slid on my arse for about 50 very memorable metres.
As I jumped to my feet I prepared for damage control - nothing hurt (too much), the bike looked ok, and everything seemed reasonably intact.
After moving the bike from the middle of the road whilst everyone pulled up to see how I was, A few guys looked my gear over for the expected rips, tears and grazes.
All I had done was tear a little bit of the pocket away on the jeans. The knee was a little scuffed, but otherwise intact. No-one could beleive it! Nothing but a bit of cosmetic damage. Thinking about it now I could have been a lot worse off.
Without the kevlar protection, I would have probably taken skin from my knee and a large amount from my thigh.
Whilst I still had bruising I did not have to deal with the agonising dressing of wounds and possibly infection.
Thank you Draggin Jeans for providing me with your great gear. The make me look, and crash, cool and casual.

Hi Draggin

Back on the bike again.
Just dropping a note to the list to let you all know that I took my first ride again this evening after binning the Blackbird a month and a bit ago.
Bit wobbly at first but not too bad after the knees stretched to fit the very tucked position of the KR. Had the most fantastic ride with the WAR group.
33 bikes - best ever turn out for a weeknight ride (we seem to do them about every second week). Pity we had a minor accident with one of the newbies loosing the front end through a chicane and the rider behind clipping him et al.
The guys at Draggin's were fantastic.
Got the comment back from Grant after he recieved my well worn set of "oh, they did work well didn't they". Typically understated :)
Lotsa nice comments from lotsa people. Also, before people ask, no I haven't bought a replacement for the XX yet. Have the KR-1S at the moment so that's keeping me happy.
Feels great to be back on a bike again! Time to put the car away for another six months :)
BTW, expect to be over in NSW during the first couple of weeks of June so might borrow a bike from one of my mates and see if I can join one of the rides over there....

Draggin Jeans

This is a mildly edited version of a post that I sent to the aus.motorcycles USENET newsgroup. I wrote it two days after having a very big accident riding my bike and, coincidentally, wearing Draggin Jeans.
Before the accident, I wore them all the time when I wasn't wearing the cordura type Touring gear - basically every day of the week for commuting, light touring, group rides etc. They more than did their job as you will see.
Considering that there have been a number of threads asking about Draggin Jeans etc., this is my story from the weekend (Sat 15th April 2000).
The point of this is to show what happens when you wear proper gear when riding rather than being an idiot in squid clothing. Things can happen anytime, anywhere, when you least expect it.
I'd had a nice run this morning. I live in Perth and decided that an early morning ride up to York for a coffee felt like The Right Thing to do. Commuting all week, I needed some roads with some bends in it - and something above walking pace speeds.
I was joined by a friend and we traveled up there (about 80km of sweepers) enjoyed the coffee and headed home via the Northam route. We'd stopped at a servo when a guy turns up on a TLR.
Newcomer to Perth and newly purchased bike so wanted to know where the good roads are. Mundaring Weir was only 5 minutes up the road so we took him for a blast through there (one of only two sets of local twisty roads in the Perth area).
Having gotten the adrenaline rush out of the system we sat back and joined the normal traffic flow again on the Brookton highway.
The accident basically was from a van driver not paying attention to the road. Left hand sweeper down near Kelmscott. I'd been sitting in traffic following a couple of cars for about 10 minutes slowly making my way back to the city.
Traveling along at about 60km/h with two other bikes behind me I'm enjoying and relaxed watching the scenery (ie I wasn't trying to overtake every single car I came across).
In the corner and hear a loud screeching of locked brakes. Look over to see a van on the other side of the road locked up and going sideways and straight at me.
With zero time to react (he'd missed the two cars in front of me and the two bikes behind!) I've impacted with the front of the van at about 45 degrees.
Luckily, because I was already leaning over in the corner, I got thrown clear of the van and sailed about 20m down the road in the air before tumbling a couple of times.
As everything stopped I sat up and realized I couldn't stand because my knees were killing me so I lay back down again :)
Basically the set of Draggin Jeans that I had on at the time saved me from more serious damage (ie total removal of the kneecaps).
I think that I've hit the ground knees first and tumbled a number of times. As you can imagine, a closing speed of about 120km/h and the rider getting tossed in the air for 20m meant I was going pretty fast when I hit the ground.
The denim was shredded but the kelvar stayed intact. I ended up with a couple of big punctures in my skin around the knees that required 8 and 9 stitches in the respective knees.
There was almost no abrasion marks (a couple of gouges from the handlebars I think) and the cuts are clean - like a piece of glass or something has cut straight through the kevlar (leather or armour would have made no difference).
As a result I can still walk (well, barely at the moment due to the swelling) and laugh and get angry at the van driver for being such an attentive person.
One of the Ambo drivers had just purchased a ZZR1100 that week. When they rolled up I told them about my knees. Wearing jeans they brought out the scissors to cut around where my knees were to see the extent of the damage.
We're not talking about home scissors for cutting paper here - these are the real things for cutting through almost anything. They had huge troubles as the scissors couldn't cut the fabric.
It was only after I told them that they were kevlar lined that they tweaked and had to cut around the back of the knees where there isn't any lining. That instantly convinced the ZZR rider to buy a set and I also think the other two riders with me.
The cost of the $130 for a set of decent riding pants has saved me from a shitload worse set of damage to the knees. Naturally my lid and gloves are also trashed and the boots aren't in the best condition so I might replace those too.
So, what's the first thing I'm going to do when I can walk again? Buy another set of Draggin's. Cant beat 'em! Also, the Blackbird will no doubt be declared a write-off (this is the one that I did the round-Oz trip on back in Dec-Jan).
As soon as I can jump on a bike again, I'll be off hunting for another (I've still got my KR-1S to ride).

To Draggin Jeans

On the 2/1/99 I was riding from Tallangatta to Khancoban with three other Ulysses club members when I applied the front brake too hard and found myself sliding down the road at 95kph on my backside and then rolling over several times before stopping.
After ceasing this rather abnormal activity I sat up on the road for a few seconds and discoverd that most parts of me were still operating.
I stood to find that my Draggin' Jeans had survived the ordeal amazingly well. There was a hole in the denim over my left knee but the Kevlar remained in tact, and there was a hole in the right rear pocket where my wallet was situated.
The injuries I suffered, namely heat grazes to my left arm and both knees, plus some rather spectacular bruising could have been much worse if i had not had the right riding gear on.
The leather jacket also did it's job well but I was amazed at the performance of the"Draggin' Jeans". I shudder to think what my legs and backside would have been like if I had worn normal jeans. The heat grazes would have been major gravel rashes.
SO THANKYOU "Draggin' Jeans", YOU ARE A LEGEND!
