Our man Lukey Luke has done it again!

March 11th, 2010

The Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will continue to treat spectators to the on-track antics of LLStunt Entertainment’s factory Triumph Stunt Rider “Lukey Luke”, reconfirming Lukey as the official ASBK Stunt Rider.

2010 will bring some exciting new changes to Lukey’s shows.

“I’ve got a few new tricks up my sleeve this year. They obviously will involve the awesome new Triumph Speed Triple and new Street Triple R but they wont be the only machines I’ll be stunting in 2010. Triumph are really treating me this year… later in the season fans will witness something very special at ASBK rounds. Fans will not be disappointed!”

Lukey Luke has been factory backed by Triumph since 2008, and loves performing for Aussie motorcycle and V8 fans. “I just love riding, love racing, and love performing for all the great ASBK followers at each event. I am really proud to be a part of the series again this year. ASBK is brilliant, and IEG have proved why it is the premier racing series in Australia.”

Lukey says fans will also have the opportunity each round to get up close and personal with the man and his machines at his Triumph LL Stunt tent. Fans can get up close and personal and check out Lukey’s scars, and the the scratches on his bikes, that confirm even the best can’t always keep it upright!

Don’t be fooled…

Draggin Jeans is, and always will be, in the business of safeguarding motorcyclists. We are dedicated to ensuring that the Draggin Jeans lining remains at the forefront of fibre technology and provides the safest protection available.
That has always been our promise to those who choose to wear our products.
It is in keeping this promise, that Draggin Jeans is the first and only motorcycle apparel business in the world to develop a lining that incorporates DYNEEMA,® the world’s strongest fiber.™ And this is why Draggin Jeans has the only motorcycle jean in the world to have a lining that passes the stringent level 1 CE abrasion, burst and tear resistance standards.
We are very proud of this so we hope you are too! These results are independently undertaken and exist as further proof of the differences in the quality of products being sold.
The reason we are sharing this information with you is because many motorcyclists are becoming increasingly concerned with the quality of other so called “protective” products entering the market. These products claim to be protective, (a word you can’t even use unless you have passed CE standards) however offer very little abrasion, burst or tear resistance.
We recommend you be careful when selecting.
Draggin Jeans promise is to always do what is best for motorcyclists.

Happy New Year! What is new…

Think your gear needs an update?

January 12th, 2010

As we enter another decade you might be thinking about updating your gear, so here is some information about Draggin Jeans revolutionary lining.
As a bunch of riders ourselves, Draggin Jeans commitment to the riding community is to push the boundaries of technology to deliver unrivalled safety and comfort.
So it is not surprising that Draggin Jeans lining is formed using Kevlar(R) and Dyneema(R), the World’s Strongest Fiber(TM). The lining is soft, breathable, flexible and non-allergenic.
For a more technical explanation about what this means, Draggin Jeans lining easily passes the CE test EN15395-1 for abrasion resistance, which is the European standard for protective clothing for professional motorcycle riders – jackets, trousers and one piece or divided suits. Draggin Jeans knitted Kevlar lining passed level 1 and 2 for abrasion resistant clothing meaning it covers commuting, general highway and freeway riding and it will provide adequate protection in accidents at urban speeds. Draggin Jeans lining has previously passed all three CE tests for abrasion, burst and tear strength.

Another Exciting Change to the Draggin Jeans Line-up

December 10th, 2009

The Draggin Jeans revolution continues to gain momentum with the talented “Lukey Luke” joining Draggin Jeans’ growing list of world class riders. The tattoo clad, Melbourne based motorcyclist brings with him an undeniable stunting talent, an extremely professional outlook and a growing fan base in Australia and abroad.

“I’ve worked extremely hard to build my profile and am continuing to get bigger and bigger every day. I take my business and future very seriously and am stoked to join the Draggin Jeans team”

Draggin Jeans has a long stunting history and draws its name from the famous Drag Test™ performed by the company’s CEO over 13 years ago. However it was the company’s dedication to safety and its reputation as being a true Australian success story that originally appealed to the young stunt rider.

“Everyone in the industry knows Draggin Jeans, and acknowledges that they have a great product. I’ve grown up with the brand and watched it progress to where it is today. Being Australian made and owned, this is the only jeans brand I want to associate myself with.”

2009 has been a year of momentous change for the Australian company and 2010 is destined to be another year of growth and diversification. General Manager, Fiona Mackintosh, promises that the changes seen in 2009 represent only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the company’s vision for the future.

“This year we released the most revolutionary jean to the market, the Slix. We also drew on the amazing qualities of Dyneema® the world’s strongest fiber™ to be the first casual brand in the world to pass the CE tests for highway riding. And now we have welcomed one of the most exciting stunt riders in the world to our team. Let’s just say that our sights are set even higher for 2010.”

Whilst Fiona is reluctant to give too much away, she has confirmed that 2010 will see the company continuing to advance both rider fashion and safety technology.

“We already have new fashion products in the pipe line and have set our sights on exciting new markets. We will be working closely with all of our riders, from Chris Vermeulen to Lukey Luke to our junior riders to add to our existing range and remain the world leader. Keep an eye out for new products, new brands and new additions to the Draggin Jeans team.”

Lukey Luke adds another exciting dimension to the Australian brand and definitely complements the future of the company. Lukey Luke’s pretty comfortable with living on the edge.

Draggin enters the Fashion World!

October 19th, 2009

In an unprecedented show of support for a motorcycle brand, Draggin Jeans is a finalist for the Fashion Group International (FGI) Award for Innovative Excellence.

FGI aims to be the pre-eminent authority on the business of fashion and design. Through its 5000+ members FGI is tapped into the heart of the fashion world and on 13th of November will be recognising and awarding those companies that are responsible for major trends and innovations in the fashion industry.

Draggin Jeans, and the motorcycling industry as a whole, have previously operated below the FGI radar, however with the launch of fashion lines such as the Slix, Minx, Biker and Silverbacks, Draggin Jeans has this year gained the attention of FGI, and a nomination in the Innovation Excellence category of the Awards. Draggin Jeans easily satisfied the groups requirements for the Innovation category; demonstrating “the development and/or application of leading-edge techniques / technology / systems in one or more aspects of [its] business operations”. Draggin Jeans will be in good company at the Awards, being judged alongside s recognisable fashion labels such as Collette Dinnigan, Anthea Crawford, Dinosaur Designs, and Aussie Bum.

Draggin Jeans’ General Manager, Fiona Mackintosh is excited that the small Australian owned company has been nominated for such a prestigious award; however she is not at all surprised by the FGI’s interest in the company.

“Draggin Jeans has always prided itself on taking military materials and giving them a real world fashion application. We are very fortunate to have a very strong working relationship with numerous labs throughout the world whom continue to push the boundaries of fibre technology”

“This nomination symbolises our success in delivering a safe and fashionable solution to those riders who are seeking casual protective clothing that will fit comfortably within any fashion wardrobe”

Irrespective of the outcome of the FGI Awards, Fiona is adamant that Draggin Jeans will continue to develop its fashion lines and explore the benefits of adapting scientific advancements to the motorcycling and fashion world.

“Draggin Jeans is a company that operates with a completely open mind. Being able to see the possibilities rather than the barriers will always be the key to Draggin Jeans’ success”
